keeping it honest...
Okay, in the spirit of keeping it honest, I have to admit that I'm still really struggling to get back on track. Some days are okay, other days (like yesterday) I feel like a 298 pound morbidly obese person again - just totally eating out of control. I really should post what I eat to this thread every day, but for some reason unless I'm being "good", I have a hard time actually writing down what I'm really eating. I feel like I can eat so much more than what most of the other posters write down, and I guess I'm scared of being judged on my poor food choices and the volume of food that I consume on the days when I'm binging. Somebody slap me!
Today is starting out okay - oatmeal with a little peanut butter for breakfast. I'm planning on a low-sugar oatmeal bar for a mid-morning snack and a pear with 1 oz. of cheese for lunch. After that, I'm not sure yet, but I'm going to try to come back later and HONESTLY post what I end up eating for the rest of the day, good or bad.
Thanks for keeping up this thread Tooter, I really need the accountability!

298/163.5 (18.5 pounds above goal and NOT happy!)
Lelina. I feel the same way you do!!!! I had to respond. Your not the only one that feels this way.
Some days, I can snack, or eat a little bit more than my normal 6oz of food each meal. This is usually when I go out to eat. Each day I try and stick to three meals a day. But at night I tend to much on baked chips, or cheese and crackers. Snacking, it's got to go ! I know this is my downfall.
My lowest weight was 145 on 4-8-05 and now I am up to 166.5!! I have pics of me at 145 and I almost look sickly, so thin ! But, I felt good at that weight, Right now, I'm stuggling and feel fat, Isn't that amazing? I know I can get this under control. Isn't funny how every day is a constant struggle?
Yes, my clothes fit but they are getting snug. I have been stuggling to lose this last twenty lbs since last fall. I have contacted my nutritionist, she suggested I exercise 3-5 days a week for a half an hour. Ok, I've done that, doesn't seem to help. Therefore, isn't the trick, an hour of exercise five times a week? (BTW, I'm not a fan of exercise) And the amount of food I am eating isn't a lot. Bingo ~! Must be the snacking, and frequent eating between meals. I've heard this is a sure way to gain back the weight.
I do appreciat all the posts on the board, I don't post often but I get a lot of good ideas here!. Thanks all!!
Anyway, here is what I ate yesterday:
B: 3 oz of 'fake' crab meat 2oz no sugar added applesauce.
L: Low fat Tyson honey turkey 5.5 oz
D: 3 oz chicken breast, 1/4 c peas w/butter and 1/4 cup garlic mashed potatoes.
snack: a few baked cheetos and three hershey kisses.
Only drank 16oz of water and a lot of coffee w/ spenda and non dairy creamer.
Exercise: 1/2 hr on treadmill.

You're MOST welcome! Funny, but I'm the opposite as you in that I usually am quicker to write the 'bad' things I eat, than the good. I think seeing it in black and white (so to speak) helps me SEE what I'm eating - especially the calories associated with it.
I'm making new mistakes this year. I've never really been a calorie counter. I've counted points, carbs, proteins and minutes exercised - but no****ched calories...my mom did when I was younger though Maybe that's why I avoided it Anyway, thanks for Keeping it honest!
Well, this week is kinda "off", cause I ran out of protein powder and haven't had time to get to the store.
Yesterday, I ate:
AM:
1 toasted flaxseed bagel with 1 slice swiss cheese
12 oz coffee, cream & sweetner
1 clementine orange
1/2 power crunch bar
24 oz water
NOON:
6 oz beef chili
1 small whole wheat bun
24 oz water
1/2 power crunch bar
1 clementine orange
PM:
4 oz steak
1 small onion
(fried in non-stick frypan, with PAM)
24 oz water
1 pepperoni stick
12 oz coffee with cream & sweetner
16 oz water
I feel like an "eating machine" this week. Without my morning shake, I have much more appetite. YIKES>

I do !!! I seldom bake, but recently made some no sugar, no added fat banana muffins. I added two scoops of vanilla protein powder to the mix. They turned out edible, but I don't know if baking with the protein powder reduces its nutrition value. Do you know if it is okay to bake with this stuff???

To the best of my knowledge baking temps below 400 shouldn't bother any protein supplement. What happens with them when you cook with them (stovetop) is that when combined with a liquid they change molecularly so that it gums up...slow baking shouldn't have any affect on it's nutritional value. "Shouldn't" lol.
