Putting my self out there !!!!!
Oh GOD, I need to reply to your post, Tina. Your story is essentially my story. Hit goal weight after 1 year, maintained for 1 year, then at 2 years out (last May) began a regain of what has now become 25 lbs. I just posted on another thread that I have just this week gotten back on track and have lost 4.5 lbs. I have been eating protein, veggies, a small amount of fruit (maybe 1 a day), cottage cheese with splenda & cinnamon for a snack, or some nuts/seeds, and lots and lots of water. To get back into the water-loading habit, I have been adding the Crystal Light powder to some of my water. As a result, I think I'm getting about 100 oz. a day. By the second day of eating this way, I stopped craving carbs - which was my downfall. I've always eaten healthy, but it was the return of carb-snacking (animal crackers were particularly a problem). So this morning I'm planning my next week of eating and completing my grocery list. One other thing that helps me with breakfast, which I have posted here before, is making what I call Egg Muffins. I mix up a basic omlette-type mixture of about 8 eggs, spash of milk, splash of mustard, salt & pepper, and some type of meat - chopped ham seems to have the least amount of fat - and some grated cheese. Pour the mixture into a muffin pan, bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. Once cooled, you can store them in a zip-lock bag and eat them for breakfast all through the week. I just reheat in the microwave - usually about 30 sec. to 1 minute. That makes breakfast a breeze. If I go out to lunch, which I did twice this week, I order a salad and a grilled protein. Most restaurants offer something like this. Yesterday I had to tell them to hold the croutons. It's that simple! I have not been hungry all week; I have not had carb cravings, which is the best part for me. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] if you want more information.
I don't think anyone on this site will judge you. We are all here to help each other. I couldn't have gotten "back on track" without the caring help and support of many on this board.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Tina,
I've done the same thing! I'm 20 lbs heavier than my projected "I'll never go past this pound limit". I started doing the Atkins induction phase to kick start a loss and to detox from my carb addiction. So far, I've been on it for 9 days and it's worked. I've lost 8lbs and I feel unbelievably better now that I'm not on the blood sugar rollercoaster. I hope things get better for you too. I think I'm back on track!
