Since my insurance company won't pay for my injections anymore. I think I better go ahead and start the sub lingual. What is a good brand for us? P.S. I finally go my picture up. Lori 280/141

If you have a Trader Joes near by they have one that melts nicely. It has B-12 and Folic acid. Debbie

Debbie, Thanks, I wish we did. They are building one but it won't be done until this summer and now I am getting scared reading all about all the bad things that can happen if your levels are low. I haven't had my shot since the end of November and I was getting them every month. Lori

I heard it was pretty cheap without a insurance coverage.....Is that not the case? Can I ask why your insurance company isn't paying anymore? I have always ran on the VERY low side of normal....and I take the sublinquals DAILY (I use the ones from walmart) I get another blood draw in Feb and if I am still low, then my PCP will give me a script for them.....I am keeping my fingers crossed! I really think the constant low B12 is my major energy sucker Take Care jesi

My insurance don't cover my injections, I do them myself though. I pay $.10 per syringe and $12.99 for 30ml of B-12. My 30ml expires 7-07..so that is 19 months of B-12 for $14.89. I don't know what a doctors office would charge, but doing it myself is less then my co-pay for 1 visit. Tracey

I will have to pay $35 a month. I was a self pay for my surgery, all $30,000 of it and originally the insurance company said they would in turn cover all of my post op "stuff". Now they are going back on this and I am getting bill after bill from my nutritionist, labs, etc from 2004. I am too chicken to give myself the injection. Go figure, I am a RN. Lori

I do 1000 mcg sublinguals daily and I do my own injections every two weeks. It is best to keep your B12 levels in the 1200 plus range. B12 def can cause nerve and brain damage that is not repairable.... B12 is cheap to buy from the pharmacy with a script from the doc. Darlene

Hi Darlene ... just curious ... I had labs done on January 3rd, and my B12 level was 898, which showed up as "normal" ... actually the "normal" range shows between [180-933] ... my doc didn't say anything about my levels, so why is it best to keep the levels in the 1200 plus range? Also, is there such a thing as "too much" B12? I know, stupid questions, but thanks. Karyn
