Hello Ruth, sorry about the hi-jack, but I know you don't mind 'em! Hello Lelina - Saw your pretty face on the board and stopped to read your reply - I'm SO SORRY to hear of the passing of your father. We (Paul and I) rec'd an email from your hubby in December, saying that he was very ill. We replied, but never heard back, so we were HOPING for the best. I know how close you two were and I wish I could do something to help ease your sadness and pain. STOP the binging, hon, you KNOW it's self desctructive, you know what's causing it and you KNOW your father loved you and would do anything to protect you from the unhealthy path of obesity. Granted, you OVER SHOT your goal and putting a few healthy pounds back on is probably very GOOD for your body - it's the way you're going about it that is the problem. I've had moments where I truly feel like Im on a self destructive path TOO, so I know what you're going through. Just be aware and don't kid yourself into believing it's temporary and you can handle it in moderation. You're state of mind and soul is still very raw with emotions and probably very vulnerable - that's NOT the mindset for moderation. Hang in there sweety - I truly believe your father is in a better place, minus the pain, sadness and challenges of the last few months. Know that through the memories that you shared/made - he'll always be a very important part of your daily life. Hugs - Lei

It IS rough when we lose someone - food is quick comfort and that might be part of why I'm diving into the bread...so much for my NOT being an emotional eater, eh? My MIL is in extreme failing health and the stress, worry, etc is eating us all up. (((HUGS))) to you! I understand and maybe together we can conquer this!

WHERE did you buy flaxseed bagels??? Sounds yummmy!!! I sometimes make my own bagels (whole wheat) and sprinkle the tops with flax. Sooo good! Hang tough - slow is a pain, but so long as its DOWN, it's good!

Tim Hortun's (a Canadian originated coffee chain) carries Flaxseed Bagels. They are whole wheat, with flaxseeds added. I have one, toasted with a slice of swiss cheese. They are delicious. Tim Hortun's is now owned by Wendy's restaurants and they are popping up all over the States, perhaps they carry the flaxseed bagels down there, too. Karen G

I've seen flaxseed bagels at a local grocery store (Butera) ... here's a link to the company that makes them (Natural Ovens) ... they are the "Golden Crunch" bagels (15g protein!): http://www.naturalovens.com/Shop/Bakery/Bagels/index.html Karyn
