When do you all take your vitamins?

I've been having trouble lately remembering to get my vitamins and calcium in, it's like before I realize it it's 11:30 at night and I haven't taken my meds for the day, and I know how bad that can be. I have tried taking them that late at night before, but when I do that, I'm up for another 4-5 hours, is it just the boost in energy or is it my imagination? When is the BEST time to take them and how do you suggest I improve and remind myself?

Someone suggested they work better for us at night, but that just doesn't work with me lol. I take my iron and vit c first thing in the morning, while coffee is perking. I set them next to the coffee pot so I remember to take them at that time. My multi I take with my breakfast and dinner - as they are absorbed better with food. So if I"m eating my first and last 'meal', I take my vits. Took a while to get in the habit. I keep that bottle next to my monitor - as I usually have breakfast and dinner at the computer Calcium right before bed. It's a matter of figuring out what will work for you. Good luck!

aaw you're sweet! I don't believe in flaming someone asking for help. I mean, it's not like you think you shouldn't take them - the people who think they don't need their vits are the ones who drive me batty - not the humans who forget them, but TRY to remember lol.

Hey Toots, I got a question for you about Trinsicon. Many of the surgeons prescribe it for our iron deficiency and to help with absorption of B12 and Iron. There has been a 50/50 consensus as to whether this is really effective or not. The stuff is $40 and insurance companies will NOT cover it. Here is my question. In your researching, have you come across anything definitive concerning the use of Trinsicon? If I don't *have* to take it and supplementing with B12 shots and tender irons, I'm happy to do so. Thanks in advance for any knowledge you might have, girlfriend

I can't really say to be frank. The research on iron is freaky at best lol. Everyone of course says 'theirs' is the best. From what I have read, the only iron I feel totally comfortable in taking, and has improved my iron levels tremendously is iron bisglycinate, which is a chelated iron and believed to be the most bio-available form by some. It depends on whose study you read. I would, quite honestly, defer to Delores on this as I know she's quite knowledgable on this topic. As for me, personally, under the advice of my nutritionist and my own research I take the iron bisglycinate religiously. But please, DO discuss this with Delores OR vitalady (Michelle). (((HUGS))))

Thanks girlfriend ~ I figured you would have some research on it. I've been talking to Michelle about quite a few things lately and hadn't even thought to ask her about this, but I will.
