Keeping it honest - Day 11
Did I mention that all of this added up to ELEVEN meals? Anything other than three meals per day, no snacks and 20 or less total carbs per DAY is blasphemy come from me...at least, it was pre-pregnancy.
My understanding of bypassing is that (during the Honeymoon Phase), not all calories are absorbed...it increases over time; and, that we never actually retain ALL of the calories that we take in; but, that we should count them all. Plus, it does malabsorb fat to a certian extent. I was bypassed 75 cm; and, I dump like a Tonka truck.
Man! I WISH that I could say that my scale has gone down...no such luck. I want to lose another 16 pounds (pregnancy gain plus 10 pounds) and I'm lucky to be maintaining and not gaining. We are all SO different, aren't we?

I'm sitting here hoping for your sake that you're not one of those that can't eat more than like 1,000 before they start to gain! It's amazing that there seem to be folks out there like that and I don't understand that, either. I always think surely they aren't really counting EVERYTHING.
Having just had a baby, I think only having to lose 16 lbs. is pretty good. You must be about within one size of where you want to be again?
Eating only 3 meals and no snacks would be great for me, too, but I just never did understand the retraining part of the honeymoon period and I don't know how I'd get in enough calories if I didn't eat snacks at this point. There's no way for me to eat 1/3 of 1,400 calories at one meal. My problem is that the line is very fuzzy between what's a snack and what's grazing!

Unfortunately, I am one of 'those' people...and, actually, it's more like 900 to not show a gain. Having insulin resistance, which has not improved with weight loss, is what I and my endo. believe to be the reason. I must have come from the shallow end of the gene pool, huh? I do count everything, too.
I gained 28 1/2 pounds with the pregnancy and have lost 22 1/2 of those. Pre-pregnancy, I was in a size 8 (for the most part...sometimes a size 7). I am back in those size 8s; but, they are definitely more snug than before.
With the low calories that I am supposed to keep to, three meals with no snacks is very doable, for me. That 'fuzzy line' that you mentioned is the exact reason my surgeon says no snacks...now, I can see why. What I wouldn't give to have those first six months back again...

Feeding one: Coffee with unjury vanilla and strawberry
Feeding two: Small serving of spagetti (left-overs trying to eat it up)
:Feeding three: Special K breakfast bar
Feeding Four: Baked chicken breast 1/2 baked potato (with a tab of light butter)
I don't know my #'s because I was too lazy to write them down, but I'm thinking back and wondering how many carbs were in that breakfast bar (it has 90 calories)!! It's been a while since I've kept up with all of this, so I got to get back into the swing of things! Please be patient!!
