Xanax question

Hi there, I have a serve anxiety to flying. My PCP has given me a presciption for Xanax .05 and it says take 1 to 2 pills every 4 hours. My question is will I get the benefits of it? Will I absorb it? Would you double dose to get the benefits? I have not taken this medication since surgery in 2004. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Angie

I have taken Xanax and have felt the benefit from it. I am 2-1/2+ out so I don't know if it makes a difference before a year. I am able to take all pills, but avoid aspirin for obvious reasons, and I try not to take anything that will take a full day to absorb. I think you will be fine. You might try it before you fly at home a day or two before just to be sure.

I take Xanax for panic attacks. Do NOT double-up on them. Everyone is different; but, Xanax still hits me like a brick. You need to be at least coherent during the flight. ~~Sherry

Yeah you'll absorb them fine. They are a little bitty pill and they dissolve FAST.....you don't want to get one stuck on your tongue Those little suckers dissolve and taste like crap....and the taste lingered forever!!!! Best of luck flying! Take Care jesi

Thanks for the reply Jesi, I was wondering if I would have a better absorption if I chewed them, but since you have given me a heads up on the taste, I think I will pass that option....
