Tek got me to thinking...
After reading and posting to Tek's "Lie thread" I thought really hard about what I did NOT eat today. I mean, the post I made on his was just for fun...but really....what did I not eat today, that I had the opportunity to.
A king sized box of Junior Mints. I took 3 and gave the rest to the kids. Poor kids lol.
Pizza at a pizza party. I nibbled on the edge of a piece of cheesebread and called it good. The pizza just looked greasy and unappetizing.
A mess of fried taters, eggs and bacon...I took my 3 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and about 1/4 cup of fried taters - gave about 1/3 of that to the dog. Preop I'd have eaten 3 eggs, 6 pieces of bacon, 2 cups of taters AND 4 slices of white toast.
So that's what I didn't eat that I WOULD have preop - and that's just today. Wow.
Thanks for making me think, Tek - even though I'm sure that wasn't your intent lol.

Toots, now you got me thinking too? I never think of what I gave up for the day that several years ago I would not have. That's a very healthy approach. Rather than beating ourselves up for something you did have, maybe a pat on the back for what we didn't have would be a nice welcome. Thanks for the "reminder" . . . It's like looking at the glass as being half full or half empty. Missy
preop I would have been all over the plate of swet stuff at my department meeting, then instead of the luna bar I woul dhave hit McD'ss or BK for a 1/4 pounder or whopper, fries and coke (real one of course) at night I would have not waited til I got home to eat and would have hit the fast food probably again. not to mention the candy bar & coke I would have picked up when I was grocery shopping.. I know I have made real and lasting changes by typing this and that feels good!
