I was lurking at the "keep it honest" posts and realized that my meals are rather boring and probably are constantly over or under the daily requirements, which might be why I'm always grazing late in the day. Breakfast: 1 protein shake 1-2 cups decaf w/creamer/splenda Lunch: 1-2 cups lettuce 1/2 can red kidney beans Oil & Vinegar and Salt Snack: 1-2 tangalos or 1-2 hard candies Dinner: A very small amount of what is available but very often it is shellfish, followed by some fruit Snack: A fruit, some popcorn, etc. I then start with 1 hard candy, one tangalo, 1/2 mango, 2 grapes, etc. Does anyone have a link to any recipes that I could make for evening snacks (while watching TV) or I could take along to the office to satisfy the afternoon candy monster. Thanks a bunch (of grapes) to all. Missy!

UH-OH Missy...now you did it! You asked for recipes and among them recipes for snacks to eat while watching TV. Missy. Missy. Missy. Eating is an activity. Watching TV is an activity. Reading is an activity. Driving is an activity. If you are eating and watching tv (or reading, driving, talking on the phone) likely you are not paying attention to the food, the quantity, your level of satisfaction, how it tastes...and this so often leads to mindless over eating. Have a snack in the kitchen. Sitting down (animals eat standing up). Then go to the tv. OK, I got my public service announcement in. You are free to do whatever works for you even if it means that you eat and watch tv. With regard to recipes...try the foodtv website...you can adapt so many of the recipes, but there are a few shows that are specific to healthier lifestyles. Karen

No, I don't eat my meals while watching TV you silly fish (tee hee hee), I meant preparing some snacks that I could have while watching TV, taking to the movies with me, etc., so as to not buy popcorn there or take a small box of candy. Before WLS I used to eat cottage cheese and pineapple, but since WLS cottage cheese makes me go into convulsions. I was a very good Weigh****cher, but those carby recipes are not always good with my tummy now. Actually I am quite excited because I just purchased the "Magic Bullet" (a gadget on TV to make shakes and the like) and I am hoping it brings some very healthy recipes for shakes with broccoli, beets, and fruit that will get many of the much needed veggies in me. BTW, I loved your public announcement, and I took it to heart. It was not wasted. Hugs, Missy.
