I ain't sayin what I had for dinner. It would be a no no to the rest of you probably. Just wanted to say I had Hoppin John for the first time on New Year's day and loved it. My recipe didn't have the tomatoes though. I will try that next time. bet it's good. i think my recipe had long grain white rice also instead of brown. But it was soo good.

Tacos sounds good. My DH and girls could eat Tacos every night if I'd fix them. NOT!!!! We all need a variety! Don't ya think? Elle

I swear, I have the weirdest family! If they eat anything more than twice in a week, they get sick of it. So leftovers one night is ok, but not again in that week. Oh but, there are some things my kids will eat over and over again and then suddenly they are sick of it and won't touch it again for MONTHS. Drives me batty lol.

Beef stew in the crock pot. Since there's only two of us, I make enough to freeze (love those GLAD/Ziplock containers!) for quick dinners and husband's lunches. tee

Beef stew is great in the crock pot. Wonderful idea of freezing individual containers for you and your husband. I have two aunts that make my husband cakes often. I usually cut them up into individual pieces and freeze them and send a piece to work with him here and there. He works midnights and I have to fix him something he can take to work and eat in the middle of the night. I have to make sure he eats well, as he's on the slim side already. The doctor has him on BOOST to gain weight. Makes me sick, as I can SMELL food and gain weight. He has such a high metabolism and is so hard for him to gain. He quit smoking 1 year ago and has put on about 12 pounds, but he needs to put on about 12 more. Then the doctor and I would be very happy. He's just so TALL (6'4") that he will never look FAT! Elle

For me leftover Veal Stew & Green Beans from last nights dinner, for my boys burgers & baked beans (not enough stew leftover for the 3 of us...daughters a vegan). Mary

Sounds good! I love burgers, but I just leave the bun off. I fix it just like I would if it had a bun on it and eat it with a fork. I have lite mayo, ketchup, onions, pickle, tomato, lettuce and mustard and cheese if I want it.
