Hi, I posted before about "Proof's in the pudding"... well, I had my EKG in prep for my TT surgery and I failed it again.... I failed it before RNY and was hoping that with all my weight loss and cardio exercise that perhaps my condition just might improve.... well, of course they don't know yet and have scheduled me for another test where you do the treadmill then they shoot you full of dye and take pics of your heart...two days... one resting pics, the other under stress.... at the hospital....YUKKKKKK I don't want to have to do this!!!! I did it before my RNY surgery about 1.5 years ago... It's expensive, its invasive and it may not even tell them what they want to hear..... and I may have to have an angiogram before it's all over with anyways.... I know my heart has not gotten worse since before the wls..... how can I convince them? I know they're just covering their butts .... but really, I am in such better shape now than before..... I'm frustrated, tired, and scared..... and of course food will not make this go away... dagnabbit!!! Anyways, I'm sure it will all come out ok, just thought that because of the improvements in my lifestyle, that surely my heart would have improved also......already!!! All this for a flat tummy and an elusiive size 10 designer jean.... I must be crazy!!! Thanks for reading..... wish me luck!!! Laurie - minus 175 lbs!!

For those of us with chronic conditions, you have no way of knowing if something has progressed based solely on how you feel. I'd much rather do the test and know what it shows going into a surgery than to have a big surprise while on the table. I didn't think my cardiac scans before the RNY were invasive. I failed the treatmill part (lasted 4 whole minutes), so just had to have the drugs injected over 2 days and lay there on the table while the machine in nuclear medicine did the work. Expensive, yes, thank God for insurance. Good luck with your tests, Sue O.

I know you're right.... I'm gonna be a good patient and do the tests..... I just don't like the thought of having to go thru with that stuff.... but you're right...at least I'll know for sure.... me and reality have a hard time on occasion..... Laurie

You said you failed the test before. You said that you don't feel it has gotten worse....but the thing I am reading in between the lines is: it hasn't gotten any better either. Usually EKG's show scare tissue and such from attacks and strokes. I think they will always be there once you have them. I could be wrong, I don't know much about this topic. Just seemed logical to me..... Darlene
