Curves?
I am in the process of cancelling my membership to Curves. My year contract will be up Feb 10. I have to give 30 days notice. I went maybe 4 or 5 times. If you like circuit training then Curves is for you. I thought I would give it a try and I did.
If not many ladies are there it is ok. But if you have to wait to find a spot to jump into the circuit it can take some time.
My long term wls complications indicate the need for weight bearing exercises. I wasn't getting them at Curves. I have to use a Fitness Center to get my needs met.
It's all in what you are looking for. Some of my friends love Curves. I'm one that didn't care much for it. Going around these machines 3 times in 30 mins was not for me.
Exercise is needed for us to thrive, if Curves can do it for you then I say "Great", if not, then look for something you like.

I have been a Curves devotee for about 2-1/2 years (right after WLS) and went religiously until I moved out of the area. Before I moved, Curves was just down the street and I had no excuse not to go. Now, there is no Curves that is convenient so I haven't been going with any regularity. Fortunately I have a treadmill at home and use it 4-5 times a week for 40 minutes (while watching programs I have Tivo'd). I thiink it is a wonderful program, but I also think once you get your weight at or close to goal and become fit, you need something more, like what a typical gym has to offer. Just my humble opinion...
