negative article on aol about gastric by pass
thank goodness he had a mom who would go to bat for him. What kind of idiots would suspend a kid for passing gas. Now, I can see if he is cracking jokes about it loudly or drawing a lot of attention to it , to reprimand him for that behavior, but not for passing gas.
I am an RN and I can tell you NOT passing gas is a big issue and can be a sign of a serious problem.
As a retired High School English teacher I have to comment on the school incident. I have had a couple of "farters" in class over the 36 years I have taught and subbed and it's not so much that they "do it on purpose" as that they do nothing to control themselves and disrupt class with loud and frequent farts. Slipping out is one thing, doing it for attention is a totally different situation! For 99.9999% of students don't bring attention to themselves with farts, so it's not a matter that "everyone does it." And yes, I have farted in class, but never loudly!! JMHO!

AOL is definitely the first place I'd go to get health information!!!
In the article, they write:
And while each these procedures may reduce the stomach to the size of a coffee cup, they won't be effective if you re-fill the cup hundreds of times a day!
Who has a pouch the size of a coffee cup??? And even on the MAIN board, who is refilling said cup "hundreds of times a day"?????? Don't anyone take offense to the Main Board reference, it was a JOKE!!
