...I'll humor you if you indulge me... Just curious about the following: 1. What time did you eat these things (an interesting thing to be aware of as you know is how often you have your "feedings")? No need to add to today's recording, but I felt sort of last with just the reference to feedings. 2. How hungry were you when you sat down (because you would only eat when sitting...right?) to eat? How hungry were you between "feedings?" How hungry are you now? 3. Your focus seems to be protein first (duh!). Is this because you were told to do this or does it "work" for you? 4. Do you aim for a particular calorie range? Feel free to ignore any/all and keep on groovin' to your thang! I bet you feel great and in control!!! Karen

It is hard to keep my feedings on a clock schedule because I don't live on a good clock schedule lol. For example, feeding one could technically have been my last feeding from yesterday as I ate it at 7 am, about 90 minutes before I went to bed. I was up all night. But I try and start and end my clock from 7am to 7am. If that makes any sense. It's the best system I've found to date. I rarely let myself get hungry. Feeding 4 is usually my hungry feeding as it's typically been about 4 hours since feeding 3, and I usually eat about every 3 hours of my waking day. Still with me here? LOL I focus most on calories than anything else. When I'm in maintenance I need to stay between 1600 and 2000 calories. If I go over I gain; less than that and I lose. Right now I'm trying to stay under 1600 - I'd like to lose 10 pounds. I like having a little wiggle room in my jeans. So I balance out my protein (getting no less than 50 grams on any given day -- and optimally I shoot for 75 to 100 grams averaged out over a 7 day period). I work with a nutritionist, but he largely lets me 'play' with my diet - so long as I keep to a few hard and fast rules. 1. That I WILL not avoid grain/veggie carbs. 2. That I get my supplementary flaxseeds in daily 3. That I always take my vitamins, minerals and iron daily as prescribed. 4. That I consume at minimum 75 ounces of fluids daily. 5. That I average 75 to 100 grams of protein (from food) over a 7 day period. 6. That IF I think I'm hungry and it's not 'time' for one of my feedings, that I drink an 8 ounce glass of something low-calories BEFORE I attempt to satiate my appetite with food. So far that has worked for me 99% of the time. Yeah! Hope this clarifies things some...and feel free to ask me anything. I'm pretty open about what I do and why....and am always open to ideas, constructive criticism, etc. And yes, largely I DO feel in control. So much better than my out of control behaviour of old! Ugh. Thanks. ~Toots

If I were to post what I eat each day on here, you guys would "tar and feather" me. First, I had to eat to gain, now I have to eat to try to fight the hypoglycemia AND to maintain. The smallest thing gets me to losing again. I will say one little thing tho, those little Valentine hearts are sure good and I crave them this time of the year.

I often say if I posted what I eat and drink it would make the readers eyes bleed. Sometimes it seems I eat one meal a day... starting at when I wake, ending when I sleep. Sadly, that would not be accurate, as I have things on my nightstand for during the night Tek

See there!!!!!!!!!! We really do have a lot in common except I knock myself out at bedtime so no need for nightstand snacks. But, whoa is me if I do wake up.

The ones that taste like chalk? I guess there really is no accounting for taste (or lack thereof). NoWhere Man/PH/Jay

Not chalk to me. It's those little "conversation" hearts. One bite of pure sugar. But cometo think of it, the pink ones do taste like pepto Bismal but hey, I always liked the taste of pepto. I am not going to talk about it anymore. I bought a bag yesterday. Now it's all gone and my crave is on big time. I will probably eat two or three more bags between now and Valentines Day then I am done. I am the same way with chocolate covered cherries at Christmas and black jelly beans at Easter. What can I say? I am just bad, bad, bad. That's why I stay away from the "what did you eat today" posts.
