I need your prayers......
Ok, friends, here's the good news...my condition of my swollen belly has nothing to do with my bypass surgery.
Ok, here's the bad news....
I have Ovarian Cancer. Boy, that was hard to actually see in print.
I don't think it has quite sunk in yet.
I will have surgery in St. Louis within the next two weeks and then chemo. I'll know more after my appointment Friday with an OBY-Oncologist.
Please keep me in your prayers. I keep remembering what one of my WLS friends tells me: God won't give us any more than we can bear. I pray that's true, especially for my children, ages 10 and 13.
Here's how twisted I am. I was relieved to find out the bulge in my
belly is pounds of fluid and that I wasn't just gaining weight. (I didn't think my Christmas was that bad)
What a way to start the new year!?

Years ago a very wise man told me something that I have never forgotten: Never make a promise on behalf of God that I am not prepared to personally keep. For that reason, I will not tell you that it will all be better, that it will pass, that you won't have dark days, etc. I will promise you that I will be here for you as you have needs.
You will be named in our prayers tomorrow at service.

Sending you prayers and a little encouragement.
Twenty five years ago this February I was dignosed with ovarian cancer.
I was only thirty four and terrified, but all that said here I am today to talk about this.
Hopefully everything will be OK.
If there is any way I can help you through this, please don't hesitate to ask.
We are all here for you
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Most Gracious Heavenly Father I lift up Joni to You Lord, as she finds she has Ovarian Cancer. You are the alltime great Physician and Healer, Lord, and only You know what's in store for her and her family. I pray as they go through this ordeal You will be by their side, leading them and guiding them in all they are about to face. Lord, touch her body and guide the surgeons' hands as they operate and help them to remove all the disease from her system. Carry her through the Chemo and help her to deal with that, Lord, but most of all, give her strength to get through this and not give up; give her courage to face whatever she will endure and help her children to understand. May You be glorified Lord, as these lives are touched by Your love. Amen.
Joni, You will remain in my thoughts and prayers. Be strong!
I'll add my AMEN to this beautiful prayer. The prayer of a good man avails much, and where two or three are gathered..... so I will also pray for healing.
I was so shocked and saddened to see that you've had this diagnosis. We all will be there for you as much as we possibly can!
Bless your heart!!
Jan
Joni,
Usually I lurk ... rarely do I post these days, and yet, I could not let this oportunity pass without letting you know that you and your children will be in my prayers as well as be put on the prayer list of my church. I am also close with many pastors across the nations and will put your family on the pastors/ministers prayer list. Trust that you will have a huge team of prayer warriors lifting you up in fervent prayer. May you be filled with the peace that passes all understanding as you journey though this storm.
Hugs,
Tammy
