I was wrong.
You go girl! I mean Tek...guy!
I cannot tell you how many times per week I am asked what "diet" I am on. I have yet to think of a good answer (still shocks me 'cuz I spend so much time fighting my smart ass urges) to that question. I usually tell people that I am on my own plan and mostly it's about moderation and knowing that just because some is good it does not mean more is better. Which usually stumps the inquisitor into submission by large fuzzy question mark that appears above the head as if to say "WTF is she talking about?"
I have been holding back almost daily with regard to the Plateau Buster Diet...glad you stepped up. Now, if only we could find away to shock the monkey out of post after post seeking Peanut Butter Ball recipes and calorie content of Wendy's Chili/Taco Bell Beans/Pureed Meat Lovers Pizza!
As I so often do...I thank you for your thoughts, and am filled with thankfulness that I have found my way out of the cedar shavings, the upside down water bottle, the squeaky wheel (most fun in the dark), and life among my own waste...to the land of the living, breathing, free and normal.
...I do miss my salt lick.

You raise an interesting point...
Missing the salt lick.
First, it may sound like by saying we are off the wheel or out of the cage, that we think we have all the answers. And WE DO... for us, for this time, in this place. Not for anyone else, anywhen else, anywhere else. In reality, we may be just climbing into yet another cage with another wheel.
There ARE things I DO miss from that former cage, and there were benefits we got from being morbidly obese. "What, there were no benefits from being MO?!?!" No, there were.
I miss Everquest (an MMORPG). When I was SMO, thing like shopping, running, and moving did not get in the way of playing this game, which I played for years, almost every non-working waking hour. One of my post-op plans was I would play Everquest for a couple weeks while I healed. Something happenned in surgery, from the day I got home, Everquest held no appeal. I've tried since, Everquest II, but no, the flame is gone. I remember the joy, but I can't duplicate it. Now, I can't justify the time.
I miss not being expected to do physical things. Now, I am asked to do a ton. People rarely asked the 512 man that could barely walk to do anything, the 210 pound runner though...
I miss being able to eat a lot of food. I was a binge eater, and I LIKED food. I never had to make a choice, "I'll have one of everthing...", no choices. Now, I have to choose what I want to eat.
There are many more blatant and subtle things that I benefited by being MO... the salt lick... The flavor of life. I'm not whining about missing these things, simply stating that I do. I state them to illustrate there are benefits to being MO.
Sorry to go all philosophical on an offhanded humorous comment. I just had nothing evocative to say that would not get the post pulled quickly
Tek
You win!
YES!!!
You understand the meaning behind my salt lick comment!!!!!
I am feeling rather early flu-like and you have just made my day.
There is a WLS higher power (so as not to mention religion or politics)!
Oh Tek, you have seen the light, read betwixt and between, and if I were able, I would give you a hug and maybe a La-Z-Boy with a built in Tray (for eating while watching hours of TV) and a special compartment to store your 12 remotes and 2 game controllers!
If I did not feel the sinew coarsing through every inch of my body I would dance and dance a la Snoopy atop his dog house in your honor.
With the kind of love that goes out to strangers who share a common bond,

Not sure of the distinction, but I'll go with wrong again, since I believe I am often right and IIRC (if I recall correctly), I have been wrong before
Tek
Interesting post and an excellent point Tek. "Again, it just comes down to which diet plan you chose to live your life, which diet plan will achieve your goals the way you want."
I'm not really sure why this would not be a good post for the main board though. Don't we all benefit from sharing these plans that have worked successfully for each of us?
