Hi Anita ... I think you answered part of your own question ... quit the drinking with meals. I started to measure some things as one day I was eating raisins out of a bag and probably easily consumed 3 servings ... I then bought little snack baggies and measured out one serving for each baggie, that way I knew exactly how much one serving was.
You should buy a measuring cup, and a small kitchen scale if you want to start measuring.
Good luck!

I dont measure food but you still have to mostly stick to protiens, veggies and fruit. If you get to eating too many carbs like bread and potaotes, the weight can come back easily. We must also exercise. I have regained about 25 pound due to these bad habits and I am working on losing them before I see my surgeon January 19 for my semi yearly appointment. Portion control on carbs I think is very important because we can tend to eat and graze more than we realize. If I graze a little I want it to be on protien. Support groups really do help. I go to one about 40 miles away. Does your surgeon have a support group? Do a little research you should be able to find some kind of support group not too far away from you. It helps to talk to other who understand what you are going through. Good luck and you are not the only one who has regained.
When I had my surgery in Oct 2002, my surgeon told me my stomach would be the size of a medium tangerine.
I went to Michael's and bought a plastic tangerine that size and put it in my kitchen windowsill.
It's still there. It helps me to remember how big my pouch is and I can see by what I have on my plate if it looks like it is more than what that tangerine would hold.
It has worked for me for over three years now.
