Be nice lol. We KNOW I'm a bit freaky, but.... I posted a question on the main that if any of the long termers would like to respond to, I'd love your opinions. I know many on here ARE die-hard protein supplementers and that is great! I am not anti-supplementing. But it's not "my" thing. So if you've gotten to goal - or lost over 100 pounds without shakes, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Tooter http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/postdetail/1663461.html?vc=0#1663461

Hi Tooter I haven't talked to you in a while. How are you doing?? All ready for the holidays? I'm not yet, but I'm getting there. I have bought maybe 4 canisters of protein powder over the past 2 years, really only drank them after the first month for a few months because I was on clear liquids the first month, then progressed to full liquids, then soft foods and then regular foods. My surgeon really wants his patients to basically get all their protein from regular food. I only occasionally drink a protein drink, mainly in the morning for breakfast (Slim-fast low-carb, 20 grams of protein) because I am not much of a breakfast person. I also drank them several times a day for a few weeks before my abdominoplasty just to bump my protein up to promote healing. I can eat a pretty decent size portion of food at each meal, so I have never had a problem getting all my protein in each day. I am not officially 'at goal' ~ I have 10 more pounds to go, but finally reached 'century club' a couple of weeks ago. I feel very healthy now and am very happy with my wt loss and my TT results. I have to admit though, that I really do not exercise, but luckily have had no major loose skin issues, besides the very loose skin that I had on my abdomen before the TT. My arms and thighs do not look bad at all. I think I just have to thank genetics for that! Have a great day!!! Eileen

I had my first protein bar about a month ago. Actually my first 1/2 protein bar! I only got through 1/2 because I started to fill woozy, sweaty and profusely salivation-y which led to my third ever dumping experience. So, here I am in my 5th year...148# loss, at goal and maintaining, having gotten all of my protein from foods when I had the bright idea to try a protein supplement. Never again! If you are a freak then count me in the class of goonies! I am not anti-supplement, just anti-doing things that aren't my way. Karen

OK, clearly I AM a freak. My internal spell check was temporarily shut down. See my original reply in which I meant to write FEEL woozy vs. fill woozy (spelling errors on the main board increase my BP, as in "loosing" or "need advise"...such is the life of a 5th grade spelling bee champ). Looking like a moron, Karen

Only during the descent phase, which lasted about 8 months. Once I hit bottom (~-145), I took the surgeon's advise, eliminated liquid protein sources (just once a day) and moved to chewable ones. Satiety was the primary reason, plus I needed to stop losing. If you are a freak, its your ability to maintain your weight loss w/o exercise. Nowhere Man/PH/Jay
