It's amazing how you can go along in life thinking that all is well and then suddenly be so overwhelmed by something. I have been feeling so good about everything since my surgery and feeling so good in general. About a month ago I found a bump. After my mammogramvthe radiologist said that it looked fine and that I should come back for another mammogram in 4-6 months. My gynecologist said no way that lump needs to come out. Thank goodness he said that because the lump was a cancerous tumor. I was so shocked! Even the surgeon was shocked. I go to the Huntsman cancer center on Wednesday to find out what I need to do. The surgeon who did the original surgery said he thought I would need a mastectomy and then maybe chemo. I am soooooooooooo overwhelmed by everything. If you know any good internet sites I can look at please let me know. Thanks for listening. Kaye

Kaye I am so sorry to hear about the cancer but thank God it was found! Who is to say that had you not lost the weight this tumor could have gone undected. Please try not to worry...I have two friends who were diagnosed and treated and are survivors. One is 17 years out of surgery and the other 3 years. Take care of yourself and focus on beating this detour in your journey. I'm routing for you kid! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! Hugs Marianne

i am so sorry to hear the news but thankful for your gyno. there is a great information site on the web. I can't remember for sure but I think it is cancercenter.org or .com. You might also want to "google' it. You will be in my prayers.

Kaye, I hope you get some good news and relief on Wednesday. You know we are all pulling for you. I just had the same scare but was relieved to have my lump benign. I feel for you and wish for the best outcome. You will make the best decision for yourself and are strong. Otherwise you would not have been a WLS-er!! BIG HUGS sweetie! Christina

Like Christina, I too had a lump removed that turned out to be benign. I am so sorry that wasn't the case for you. We are here for you. Dixie
