This doesn't seem right
Hi all,
Had my TT/hernia repair a couple weeks ago and just took my waist and hip measurements.
Prior to surgery I was waist 34 hips 42
now I am waist 39 hips 40
I am not sure if I am measuring at the right spots anymore. It was the "apron" that added so much to my hip girth but MAN!! MY WAIST IS HUGE NOW! That really bums me out cuz it won't change size in the right direction. Am I just freaking out too soon and there is still swelling. Did the doc just shove my fat up or was I even more deformed underneath my rolls of flesh? Just having a little meltdown this morning. Like this isn't the body I was used to and I don't know if I like it any better than the old one. Just venting but interested to hear your take on my feelings.

I'm sure it has to do with all the swelling. It takes time and before you know it, your shape is there. Your waist will get smaller. Give it time my dear. We are impatient people and want it all NOW..LOL... I am one of them so I should know. I do understand your stress Lucy. It will get better with time. Hang in there.
Have you gone onto the tuckthattummy site and asked some of these questions or looked them up? I think it will help. Alsom MSN has a good site. ThePlasticSurgeryExperience.com. Did I send you the link to that one? If not I will email it to you. You can see my pics on there too. They have 3 sites. They have a Q&A message board too.
Hope this helps.
Have a great day in spite of what you are feeling like right now. This too shall pass.
Love Ya!

Relax, it's all about swelling at this point. My surgeon told me I would not see the full result of the TT for six months.
I will be six weeks out from surgery tomorrow. I bought pants in size 16 that fit perfect two weeks ago, yesterday I bought several pairs in size 12. The 16's are going to have to be altered. That's in 2 weeks. All that saline solution they pump into us just takes a while to go away.
It's so hard to wait to see the results but I suppose we'll just have to invoke that old patience gene once more. WLS has pounded that one into me for sure.
