Hi all, Just got home from my checkup. Had the rest of the staples removed and one drain out. Still have two left that I am suppose to call him Thursday about with their current output. I took neighbor Mary with me so that if I start to freak out about how something is healing she can assure me it looks better than it did. Ha Ha. He still thinks I should be able to return to work around Dec 8th. Think I may need to get some more paperwork to verify that. Seems like all is going well. I can't wait to shower again. Have been avoiding it because of the drains but he says it is ok. Will be glad when the remaining two are out. I may have to go back to work with one still in. He is not sure at this point. Well thats all the news. Time for a nap now! Love, Lucy

Congratulations on getting rid of some of the plastic surgery equipment. Sometimes we have to be patient with the drains because they have a mind of their own. I still have 2 drains at over 5 weeks out, but my plastic surgeon told me up front due to removing 22 lbs I'd have them longer than the average person. They started out at 75+ cc's but are bumping between the high 20's and low 30's now so hopefully they will be out soon. I came back to work on day 12 and haven't found them to be a big problem. I've already started buying my new wardrobe and find they don't interfere too much with the fit of my clothes. I'll be happy to see them go though. I hope you are as happy with your results as I am with mine. I know we won't see the full results for six months, but if it never gets better than it is today I'll be happy. I feel so blessed to have been able to have wls and plastic surgery to finish up the wls journey.

Thanks Pat, I can't wait for the six months to go by to see the end result. I am not completely happy. My belly button is too low and I have one major dog ear. Also I feel like my upper stomach under breasts (where my hernia was) is big compared to my lower which is nothing! That is where my huge apron was. My "baby" as I have been calling it was about 9 pounds. But I went into this with my WLSurgeon knowing I should probably have a PS. I just love my doc so much and he is upset about the belly button especially. But in the big scheme of things I am healthy and that huge stomach that haunted me all my life is gone. I don't want to be vain about everthing else and yet I want to know what its like to be "normal". and yet all the surgery I would require to look normal would not be "normal". Am I making any sense? Glad you are doing good. Bet you get those drains out soon. Mine will be in two weeks tomm. and I think there is a good chance I will have them out by Monday. Take Care--- Lucy
