*****Update on Patty Butler*****
As most of you know, Patty Butler had a complete knee replacement this morning. The actual surgery took longer than expected. I went to the hospital around 3:30 this afternoon and she had just been taken to her room. She's in a lot of pain, of course.
If you would like to offer a word of encouragement to her, please respond to this post and I'll print it out and take it to her tomorrow. I'll be printing it around 1 pm so please post before then.
All prayers and good thoughts are welcome. The pain is really bad, even with the good drugs.
Thanks,
Connie
Hi Patty! Bless your heart, recovering from ortho surgery is a more
than full-time job. Remember there's always a post-op time when you think OMG WHAT DID I DO???? And use your pain meds liberally - it seems that usually once you "get on top" of the pain and can get moving a bit - and coughing a deep-breathing and all those things good patients do - and I KNOW you're a good patient - things go better and you can cut back on the meds. Just a couple thoughts from an old nurse - YMMV.
I'll be sending good, healing thoughts to Texas!
Your WLS pal,
Bette
Hi Patty,
You are in my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery. You've done this before so you know how to do it. Just concentrate on how great you are going to feel when the recovery is behind you.
I've admired how strong you have been as you exercised through the pain. I'd probably have sat down and done nothing.
