first check-up

Hi all, Thought I had better check in. All has gone well after my surgery last Wednesday. Today I had every other staple removed and got re-bandaged. Saw my new tummy for the first time. The bottom part is so flat but the top looks bulgy to me. I have a belly button which I did not expect. He was not happy with it though and thought it was too low. Says he measured but when he pulled the skin it did not end up where he thought it would. Also may have "dog ears" on the sides but I am ok with what he did at this point. Have to take Milk of Mag. to get things moving.... kinda worried about that as it has almost been a week. Go back Monday again. All three drains are still draining quite a bit. Off work at least through Dec. 7th. Am allowed to walk but not really exercise rigorously-- also stoop and bend if it is comfortable. Really cutting down on my pain meds so should be able to drive soon. Can't think of anything else to bore you with. I am thrilled to be alive. Felt pretty good this morning then took a two hour nap this afternoon. Hopefully will sleep tonight. Take Care-- Lucy
