Can someone explain to me?

Jessica O passed away this AM. Her condition was not clear to me. She had WLS, experienced signficant problems post-op. She indicated to me that she could not discuss it due to pending litigation. From what I could discern, her situation was not simply botched surgery, but involved some other condition. Can anyone shed some light on this?

From what I recall, she also developed cancer. That is what I believe she died from. She did have complications from her WLS, but it is not what she died from.
I'm not undermining the severity of her complications from WLS, but that is not what she actually died from.
My condolences to her family. They have been through quite an ordeal.

Our support group had adopted her and her son last year at xmas time. She has had many complications from the surgery, doctors would not do anything for her in her area. She visited with Crece and was taken to doctors last year in that area. She also had some doctor visits on the East Coast..
She developed some complications from long term use of TPN, she was in chemo treatment for breast cancer.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
Her profile tells it all.

How very sad. She went through so much.

Jay,
Clearly you've got the info from the above.
I just wanted to add that Jessica and I became
"Complication Buds" during my 1st year.
We used to regularly e-mail back and forth
And commiserate about being "statistics"
Even when everything was done "by the book."
I was holding out for her to splash the headlines with-
"....Snatches Victory from the Jaws of Defeat!!!"
When she "turned the corner" with her complications.
About the time when that seemed completely probable,
And assured, she received the cancer diagnosis.
She fought the "good fight!" but without a lot of
Foolish oversimplification and she was never guilty
Of "going softly into that 'Goodnight.'"
She did her share of "railing!"
When I first started corresponding with her
Her biting sense of humor was sharp as any.
She was hilarious! Throwing dark humor in the
Face of adversity.
Sad, Sad case. But a reminder that in fact
No one gets out of here Alive! It's just a question of How.
Sense chemo started we've e-mailed less and less
And here of late, she was just to tired to keep up
A brave face and respond to her e-mails.
I'll miss her and pray that her young son grows up
With just a portion of her feisty spirit.
Best Wishes-
Dx
As did many, we swapped some emails during her complications phase. I was on the end of the spectrum. I skipped out the hospital, and was done losing weight (-155) in 9 Months. As such, out contrary experiences made for tension, and I expect neither of us comprehended what the other experienced. I count my blessed to have experienced what I have, knowing how it could easily have been another path altogether. I even confess to feeling guilty at times to have had my experience of zero complications, rapid weight loss and little regain. Again, I know it could easily have been otherwise.
