I am 1 year post op and would like to know what kind of blood work to ask for when I go see my doctor. I had surgery out of the USA and don't know what to ask for???

The factors required for your blood work should depend on your morbidities prior to surgery, My Dr has done all the standard testing for cholesterol, diabetes and now has done additional testing for Blood calcium levels and vitamin B levels. I don't know that you will need to ask for specific blood tests your Doc should know what to look for in the blood work. Good luck.

Go to my site: http://www.geocities.com/tiger_angie/ Click on the POST-OPS link and then look for LAB TESTS RECOMMENDED FOR GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS Angie

Hey Angie I don't think your site is working. I clicked on the link, but nothing was there that resembled "lab tests" or even "post op" link. Wendy

Huh? Maybe you didn't click on the picture, which gets you to the second page... The direct link to the page with all the info is: http://www.geocities.com/tiger_angie/index_2.htm

Hey Anne, I always ask for the Chem 25, plus iron, plus b12. My doc sadly doesn't always remember to check all the appropriate boxes LOL, but.. Hope this helps. Wendy
