Iron!! which is best absorbed?

Hi all, happy halloween, My surgeon said my iron is normal but that my reserves are kind of low, I was on ferrous sulfate before but I have heard that there is better stuff out there. any recamendations? thanks Donna

I use Bariatric Advantage their Iron is from Ferronyl they have an 18 and 29 mg. Mary

I like the carbonyl as it has the least side effects for me. Vitalady sells it. I take it w/ a side of colace Linda

any of your sulfate drugs are pretty harsh on the pouch. The fumerates in the iron family are good. There is also one made by Solgor or something that is supose to be good also. Darlene

I take carbonyl...got it at CVS. Got the runs from it at the beginning...am doing fine with it now. Not sure if it is making a difference as I have not had my blood checked since diagnosis of iron deficiency anemia. Karen (BTW, my picture is from 5 years ago...pre-op)
