October 31st, Esteem Others Let each one of us make it a practice to please (make happy) his neighbor for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him (to strengthen him and build him up spiritually). Romans 15:2 There are people who make "ministries" out of criticizing everybody else. But most people who judge others who are actually doing something are the ones who are doing nothing themselves. They put down other people to try to lift up themselves. THe Word of God calls us to build up others, esteeming them more highly than ourselves (see Philippians 2:3). Avoid people who constantly criticize others so their negative comments will not rob you of godly enthusiasm. God can use you today to help strengthen someone's faith. Jeannie Thanks for these words, I've been saying this all weekend to my family members because we are going through a family crisis and the tongues are wagging and fingers are pointing. I keep telling them that one should not spread false words especially if they are getting only part of the story.
