How much protein

I have always read that we should eat our protein first then go for our vegs. and fruit. But how much protein should we consume at each meal in order to meet our daily requirement? If I want to have vegs and fruit when do I know when to stop eating the protein and start eating them? If you eat protein until you feel full then you won't have room for the vegs and fruit which are also necessary for a well balanced meal? Thanks

Many groups suggest at least 60 grams per day. Taking that into consideration and doing that math that would 20 grams per meal. At 15 months out I can easily get 20 grams per meal from lean dense protein and still have room for veges and salad. Mary 415/183/-232

around 6 oz of lean meat, fish or chicken is aproximately a days requirement (aprox. 50Gms). I divide that up into 2-3 oz portions. with my additional from eggs, yogurt, chees, I generally easily get 70-90 grams a day.

I have difficulty eating anything else once I eat a dense protein. So I try to divide my nutrition throughout the day. Protein in the morningVeggies and fruit throught the day and complex carb at night. It is working well for me and I have lost about 160 pounds in almost 18 months.

What a wonderful suggestion. Thanks. I know exactly what you mean by no room left after eating dense protein. I can break it up like you do and get everything in. Thanks again for the help. Carol
