Lynda, I'm praying for all of you in Florida - we have had enough huricane damage for one year. Even though were weren't directly affected by Katrina or Rita in Dallas, we did take in a lot of refugees - and the impact those storms had will be felt for years. My heart was broken by the damage and death in New Orleans - not to mention the loss of jobs and personal mementos. I will keep my fingers crossed that Wilma does not have a significant impact on Florida. Patty

Thanks Patty--I'm thinking positive. From my standpoint I am just hoping that it continues on the track they are now talking about which is a little south of us. We will still get hurricane winds--but no surge.

Hey Lynda!! I haven't been on much this weekend, but have been trying to follow Wilma's progress. I'm just hoping you all stay safe and take care of yourselves...Be good now and let us know how it goes if and when she ever makes her way through your neck of the woods...Cap'n K-Man

When I moved from California to Oklahoma, an old-timer around here marveled that anyone would live in California. "They got them killer earthquakes, you know". I pointed out that Oklahoma has many more deaths associated with tornados. He countered by saying "Yea, but you can see them sonsa*****es a-comin." (especially if you climb up on the roof of your double-wide) Every place seems to have their environmental strengths and weeknesses. FL and the Gulf Coast general exposure to tropical storm risk has been made very much evident this season. Have you given any thought to moving to International Falls, Minnesota? Nah, too cold. Yuma, AZ? Nah, too hot! Olympia, WA? Too wet! .......... Nowhere Man/PH/Jay

I agree totally Jay--although both tornadoes and earthquakes kinda freak me out with their lack of warning. It had been over 40 years since a major hurricane struck my area--now we have had two in 14 months! I'm convinced global warming is at the root of it all--but who knows.

Forget global warming. That's a low-budget plot devised by evil Republicans to put money in Dick Chaney's pocket. The real mastermind of today's weather is the Japanese Mafia. Read about it www.weatherwars.info. Trust me, if it was not true, they would not have a website dedicated to it! Nowhere Man/PH/Jay

Hi Jeannie-Hope everything is good with you. We made it through--and actually still have power. I think we may be the only ones. How about that backside of the hurricane? wow, we thought it was over--and then came the back end. Holy camoly.
