So I joined Weigh****chers.....
Hi Patty!!
I read your reply to Erica and wanted to say THANKS from me too!! It is very informative and sounds like they may be good rules to try and implement into our daily routines. So many of us "fall off the wagon" for one reason or another, but do need to hear that there are others in the same boat as us to know that we truly are not failures...Just human.
I am so glad to hear you are exercising...even though you are in pain. I am sure when the knee replacement is complete, you will be feeling like a million bucks!!
Stay cool and take good care of yourself...It's good to see ya on the board tonight...Cap'n K-Man

Good for you!
I see lots joining WW and other weight loss type places (like LA Weightloss, Optifast, Nutrisystem)..in all actuality they have all the tools they need with their pouch and dumping ability (if they are lucky!)
I read the MB like a lot of others and see people asking questions about diet pills, even though they are less than a year postop and other types of diet aids. People forget how lucky they are to still have their tool in place. Unless there is a staple line disruption or a mechanical breakdown of the surgery, you should be able to go back to protein first and good healthy food choices, lots of water and vitamins and EXERCISE! most of all and be successful.
I did WW for years and years before surgery..didnt help me then..and dont think it'd ever be able to help me..
I just use what i'm lucky enough to have!
Good for you, for realizing that back to basics is what we really need to do..it isnt hard..but getting started can be!
Best Wishes!
I joined WW for awhile back in the spring and even though I lost a little at first, I had to quit because I ended up getting pretty sick and run-down from it.
I was allowed 20 points per day and since the protein items (meat, cheese, etc) have the highest points, the things I was eating to stay within my points was NOT what a WLS person needs.
So after spending a fortune on all their books, calculator, 10 weeks of meetings, etc. I gave it up and went back to what I should have been doing in the first place - LOTS of protein and now I'm almost to my goal and feeling GREAT!
But you gotta do what you gotta do - just be careful and stay HEALTHY!
