How To Navigate the Board

I have such a hard time navigating this board (and others too). After I read a post, if I want to get out of the thread, I back up (the only way I know). HOWEVER, if I post something I am given a prompt to "return" to where I was, but I can never return unless I go back, and back, and back, and back, a gazillion times. Is there an easier/quicker way to navigate this? Missy

I am pretty sure this should work... After you read a post you can go to the column of the left hand side of the thread and hit message board. This takes you back to the board you were on, the only problem is that it takes you back to the latest posts. That is usually ok on the grads board because there is not a whole bunch of BS to sift through. It could make you crazy on the main board because of the copious amounts of posts with all sorts of flashy stuff! I have not yet found and easier method. Karen

Hi Missy, The easiest way for me to do it is to always keep the index page (or pages) open. Then instead of clicking on the message link (which takes you away from the index page) I right-click and choose "open in new window." Shift-F10 also works. This opens the message in a separate instance of the browser. I usually open up a bunch of message windows and then just read them all and close them when I'm done. This is much easier than all the back and forth stuff. -- Jim F. high-475, surgery-414, lowest-164, current-197, goal-160

Hi Jim--Haven't seen you around in ages. How are you? Hope all is well with you. Thanks for the hint. It is kind of frustrating how these boards work.

Hi Lynda, I'm doing OK, but am still hit or miss on getting my overeating under control. I am working my way down from about a 35 pound regain (I've lost about ten of it.) It's been about five weeks now with only 4 "bad" days, so that's good. I've been trying to really hit the exercise (did a 5.2 mile run this afternoon) so that helps a lot. Thanks for asking! -- Jim F. high-475, surgery-414, lowest-164, current-197, goal-160

Hey Jim--that averages out to less than one bad day per week--sounds pretty darn good to me.

Great tip! Thanks. (Of course I forgot to use it for this post . . . grrrrr, lol!)

Thank you, I am going to try that. I am a bit computer challenged in that, so I printed out your post and will refer to it often. That should make my lurking easier. Missy (before WLS 268, current 123, at goal).
