Long time no talk! Life has been so hectic with my new little one! She'll be three months old November 1! I had surgery 12/15/2003 and just had a baby this past August. I gained thirty and lost 18 after the birth. I have since gained 4 more pounds so I am up sixteen from before I got pregnant. I have been thinking of joining weigh****chers. Has anyone had experience with this? Does it work with our pouch? Thanks, Erica

I joined WW 3 weeks ago. First week I gained one pound, second week lost that pound, third week no change. Darlene

I'm not so sure WW is the diet for us. Most people advocate South Beach, because it is higher on protein. The Zone or even Adkins would be good also. WW has too many carb choices that our bodies don't handle well. My best protein is obtained from a shake. When I do WW or similar eating, I end up eating half a slice of pizza and 1 cookie (as an example - because you are allowed to do that), but that leaves me with low calories, bad calories, and hungry - definitely not meeting my protein requirement for the day. (Besides you will lose faster and steadier on South Beach). Missy

Hey There Hon!! So glad to see you out here. Sorry about the gain. Not sure about WW. It didn't work long for me pre-op. 3 months? Oh what a great age! Are you able to "Up your Exercise?" That could help. Keep us posted? Best Wishes- Dx

Hello friend!! It is so good to hear from you!! CONGRATS on the new addition to your family...I'm sure you and your hubby (forgot his name) are SUPER parents. Don't worry...it does get easier with the kids after a while. Then it gets incredibly difficult (I have a teenager now), but I know you, like myself will get through all of it just fine!! I was considering joining WW again myself, but am worried about all the carb choices. I am NOT "anti-carb"...I just have to be careful with them. I was actually thinking again about going to OA again. I did it years ago for a very short time but I think I am much more mature to let it sink in now. I know that you will find what works for you. It isn't any easier the farther out we get, but you know what worked for you...pre-pregnancy and you will find it again. It is great that you and your hubby have each other for support. THAT IS SO IMPORTANT!!! Be good now and drop me an "e" through OH if you would like my new mailing address and e-mail address. I would love to hear from you!! Keep up the good work and tell your husband congrats from me too...You will be just fine...Have a super weekend...Cap'n K-Man

I have been going to Weigh****chers for several months now in an effort to get the last 15 pounds off. I'm not really following the tracking diet, although I have been trying to track what I eat. It's really the thought I have to weigh in every week in front of someone else that keeps me more honest. It also makes me think more about what I eat. Also, for the first time in my life, I'm actually near goal. I figure I've paid for several Weigh****cher workers salaries with all the times I've joined over the years. I deserve that Lifetime membership, and I'm going to get it! I weighed this morning, and I'm officially 2.8 pounds from goal! I also stay for the meetings, and that helps too -- we all face the same kind of food demons and the support helps. Joni P.S. Congrats on your little one! I love babies, but I'm just going to have to wait until mine have grandkids for me.

Erica-Congratulations on the birth of your baby! I love babies--they don't talk back-hehe! No, actually, I love kids in general. I have no advice on WW--but wanted to say hi and wish you luck.

Hi Erica, Believe it or not, Suzanne Sommers program is all about protein and it is delicious. I lost 35 pounds when I followed it prior to my surgery. I'm thinking of getting back on it now that I am further out. I have all of her cookbooks and they are wonderful. She has good food and wonderful easy prep of it. Advocates low carb choices for veggies and has an interesting theory on eating combinations, which REALLY work. Good luck. Marilyn
