Thanks for the link.
I have been weighing myself every day since 6 wks. post op. After avoiding the scale and considering it akin to the devil for 30+ years, I realized that the scale can be a very positive tool in the whole WLS thing. By weighing myself at the same time (and in the same condition=no food/drink/clothes/having peed, etc.) every day I have learned to take responsibility for both the successes and challenges to staying successful for life.
I often see posts suggesting one should "get rid of the scale". As someone who has a past of letting a 5# weight gain turn into a 15# and even a 50# gain, I believe that scale has incredible power to slap you back into reality...there really are no surprises!
Continued success and thanks again,
Karen
I have to admit that I am a DAILY SCALE STALKER! I find that if I weigh myself daily I can watch and make sure that a 3 pound increase does not lead to 10. I can usually associate the increase with an unusual intake of salt the day before or if salt is not the issue I can get back on track by being extra cautious with what I put in my mouth. I know that my weight will fluctuate a pound or two and have no problem with accepting this. I use the daily weigh ins as MY TOOL to maintaining a successful weight loss and goal.

I am glad someone posted about this subject. I have been jumping on my scale right after the "bathroom" trip first thing when I get up for 2 years and 4 months, and it is definitely working. If I see a few pounds go up, I realize I couldn't get away with yesterday's mistakes and my day starts fresh with my first glass of water; if I go down or stay the same, I kiss the scale and thank my lucky stars that I was given another day to make up for the foolishness I did the day before and then I buckle down and start my day with a glass of water. So far it is working. I used to not weigh myself at all pre WLS because I would stop when my clothes didn't fit well. Well . . . my clothes obviously didn't fit very well as I went up the ladder to 268, but that didn't stop me. Thank goodness for the morning weigh-in, every morning. I love it!!!!! Missy
