Okay, so when I was going door to door collecting for the American Heart Association Heart Walk, I saw something on someones door and LOVED IT! It was a sign that said the owners of the home name. It said established in: yadayada My question to you is this: Would you either say: a: established in the date you were married or b: established in the day you moved into the home I want to get one but am not sure what I want to do! ps - KIKI - should I have marked this urgent?

I would say the date I moved into that particular home. You could not establish THAT home until you moved in. Interesting sign.

I posted this on the main board as well and so far they're all for marriage as the general feeling is a marriage is what makes a home (of course for those who ARE married) - but I also kinda thought the house establishment too because that was such a mile stone for both of us.

Well it's most definitely urgent, of course! I responded on the main board, but not to the marriage thing -- ok, I'm single, been in my house for 19 years, but married couples have bought and sold homes around me -- so, they're established, their houses are homes, for however long they stay -- but I'm not, and it's not? Dang it . . . and I planted flowers out front and everythang! (Don't you love falling into the political correctness maze? eh heh heh -- let the angst begin!!)

LOL - actually darlin - you are the reason I was thinking of the buying the house portion of the "established"

I would say the date I established my family (name). That way if I ever moved I could take my sign with me. Darlene

Hey - ya know I thought about the sign and all but NEVER about moving it! I must just really love my house and can't imagine leaving it!

We have this sign outside our door. Were given the sign as a wedding gift and the "established" part refers to our wedding date. NOT ONLY IS THIS AN URGENT POST, IT NEEDED TO BE WRITTEN IN ALL CAPS, WITH LOTS OF SPELLING ERRORS, WITH A REFERENCE TO SLOW SIGN POSTING, (IS THIS NORMAL?) AND IF THOSE POSTING THE SIGN POOP OFTEN AND TO PLEASE DESCRIBE (IN GREAT DETAIL) THE CONSISTENCY AND TEXTURE WHEN THEY DO POOP! I can't remember where the sign came from, maybe Hammecher-Schlemmer or Frontgate or one of those catalog type places. Be well all, Karen (changed my profile name today...reference what a valet parking attendant said to me in front of my almost 13 year old son, as in...ooooh girl, you got it goin' on!...he very nearly vomited.)

I was once thinking about getting one of those signs and which date was my dilema too. I think I would use the date of when I moved into the house--even if it meant I could only use it for that house.
