Has anyone had to take this post-surgery? I had a non-WLS related surgery in 2 areas on me a few weeks ago and they prescribed me Tylenol 3 for pain and it was like I took nothing at all. I finally got them to prescribe me Hydrocodone (woohoo!!! lol) and that worked great. I was just curious, anyone else have issues with Tylenol 3? Michelle

Tylenol 3 is pretty light-duty stuff. Tylenol 4 is (arguably) in the league with Hydrocodone (Vicoden/Lortab). Personally, I get great results with Vicoprofen (Hydrocodone & Ibuprofen). YMMV. Tek

Hi, I got hooked on Hydrocodone. Felt NO pain after my surgery and took nearly two bottles and looked for more. lol That stuff beats Tylenol hands down, but it could be quite addictive. I slept like a baby. Haven't had that good luck since. Marilyn

I had a dental implant from hell recently. It became infected within an hour of the procedure and went from bad to worse. I was in horrible pain for over two weeks before it rejected. The dentist had me on three different antibiotics and two different pain medications during that time. Neither the Hydrocodone or Percoset slowed the pain for more than an hour. I found extra strength Tylenol did as much for the pain as the prescription meds. I was taking Tylenol every hour between the prescription drugs. Not good for the liver but with the pain I was in there was no choice. I talked to my PCP and surgeons office. Both say I should be absorbing all meds at 21 months. The surgeons office did say no studies had been done so it's only an assumption that we absorb them. I posted this question on the board a while back and received several replies from people who had the same experience I had with meds. Nothing last as long as the are suppose to last. I don't want to scare people off from dental implants with my experience. I had it done again this week, but this time the periodonist started me on antibiotics three days before surgery and will continue them for 7 days after surgery. 48 hours later I've taken a total of 2 extra strength Tylenol for discomfort.......no pain. This is a totally different experience than the first time. Best of luck to you.

I never took Tylenol 3...but I have to tell you...I had an IUD inserted about 6 weeks ago and had the most horrible cramps I've ever had. I was taking 4 extra strength Tylenol every 4 hours for 5 of those weeks...UGH! I so wish we could take some stronger stuff! It's all better now...hang in there girl... Hugs, Paola
