Can someone tell me where the protein train originated? Just wondering where it came from before I start. I am a 2 yr post op gastric by patient and this is my first post to this board. I am glad someone started this message board. Thanks to whoever did!!

Hi Annette, Was surprised to see your name on here. Wish I had your answer but I don't. Maybe we could help eachother on the train. I couldn't stick to it the last time I tried. I am so proud of DD. She lost 11 pounds in 10 days. She isn't as far out as we are but still I think it would jumpstart our loss again. See ya- Lucy

Hi there guys and gals, I am almost 2 years post-op. I had my surgery on 12/15/03. I have lost 115 pds and find it so hard to stay on track. I work the 3-11 shift and when I get home I seem to eat. . I have taken the carbs out of the house except for a few crackers. No cookies. I have replace them with Sugar Free Klondike bars,Sugar Free pudding and I have that with Cool Whip Free. It is a long and hard struggle. I think Is this how people who watch their weight have to deal with it everyday. Are we among the normal people who care? Is it that we did not care? Wow so much to deal with. I have a daughter who had WLS in 2000. She never got to goal and was 350 pds. She got down to 220 pds and then began quickly to gain it back. She is now back at her weight and refuses to talk to me about it. I am My fear is that this will happen to me. I was such a brittle diabetic that I fear having the pain of Diabetic Nueropathy and having to take all those medication. I am going to try to take one day at a time and be very careful WOW................. I aired it out Thanks for listening guys. Lorraine

Hi Annette, Don't know what you mean by your ?--are yoiu referring tho the phrase? or the concept? The concept is that by reverting back to protein--and eliminating the carbs--your cravings are reduced and caloric intake goes down and you lose weight. Sort of a kick start and a return to the basics that so many of us were taught when we first had surgery. BTW--You may want to change your name as may people who use their real name have found they have privacy issues. Often times when you google a real name-someone's posts will appear. There have also been people who have received funny phone calls. Welcome to the grads board. OH started it at our request.

Lynda, Thanks for answering and thanks for the name suggestion. Like other grads the father out I am from my surgery date, the more I feel the inclination to eat like I did before wls. It is scary to be able to eat more. However my stomach still reminds me when I go overboard. I just wish I would not go overboard and stick to protein first and with about a cup or 1 1/2 c of food at meals and no grazing. You see I do know what I need to do. IT IS JUST EASIER NOT TO! Annette
