Now Who Wears The Pants?

About 18 years ago I lost a whole lot of weight on "Diet Center." Kept it off, bought new clothes (I was still in my early 20's living at home so mom/dad paid...if you have read my posts you know that I have a $19.99 limit for most things except bras and shoes which I will pay lots of $$$ for because if your boobs hang low and your feet hurt you don't have a prayer), anyway...I saved one pair of my pants (8 petite) they are all wool, with a beautful cuff, and a window pane like plaid...tasteful and classic, made by Ralph Lauren. I have saved them through probably 300# gained and lost, two 10+# babies, and my WLS. They have taunted me for years. I put them on this morning figuring that I would have to really suck it in and hope to button them someday, but not today. WRONG......................... Not only did they fit just fine, they buttoned and zipped!!! One problem, they are so out dated!!! I can't believe it!!! Also, my ass must have taken a hiatus or gravity has caused an eternal hibernation because I can't seem to find my ass among the once tasteful pattern. Just thought I would share a moment of triumph and sacrificing a measurable goal for good fashion sense. BTW, I really am a woman of substance...really I am.

I have a pair of size 7 bell-bottom, hip-hugger purple jeans from the early 70s when I was in high school. My daughter use to borrow them to wear for "tacky day" at school - how dare her call my prized purple pants tacky! Although I'm sure I'll never be seen in public with them on I sure would like to be able to squeeze into them just one more time. Congrats on your navy pant success!! DD

Karen, I can so relate, I had several items of clothing in my spare bedroom closet from 20-30 years ago. I was so thrilled when I got into them, and really wanted to wear them, but my fashion sense won out when I realized how comical they look now---i.e., gigantic shoulder pads, etc. But it's fun to get back into them anyway. I can't bear to throw them out. Hugs, Connie -147# @ goal
