Reasonable supper

It's amazing what you get when you ask. This morning at church I prayed about my eating not really having a plan for the day and just wanting to be moderate. Usually on weekends I have junk I have been craving but this afternoon i remembered I had a Cornish game hen thawed in the frig., an acorn squash and some fresh cukes and tomatoes. So I had the leg and wing of the hen (my dog had some of it too), 1/4 of the squash with butter, salt and pepper and a bit of ranch on the veggies. It was delightful ! Not too unhealthy, all home cooked-- I sat down at the table with a candle lit (where I usually eat on the run or in front of the tv) and truly enjoyed nurturing myself with a nice meal. Then I packed up the rest in three freezer trays for meals later on. Me and my dog were very satisfied. Why does it seem so hard sometimes when this was soooo easy!!! Just had to share .... Lucy

Good for you Lucy!! I love a good presentation of my meals. I even bought really pretty china teacups to eat out of (they hold about 1/2 cup) and demitasse spoons to eat with. We really should enjoy our meals and yours sounded yummy with an enjoyable setting. I hope you maintain that all week! DD

My mom, bless her heart, would say: It's all in the presentation. If the table looks nice, it doesn't matter what the food tastes like. lol That has pulled me through a lot of awful spur-of-the-minute meals. Marilyn

Lucy, that's a good lesson to learn!! "You have not, because you ask not." It's a lesson I have to learn as well, to ask for blessings and not to think of it as selfish!! I'm glad you enjoyed the hen (and your little dog, too!) Jan 240/126/115 (at goal size)
