I've had a GTT and also have hypoglycemia (mine's part of impaired glucose tolerance) but I was wondering after you drank the glucose solution, how high did your sugar go before the plunge? I am just curious. ~KD in WA

I'm sorry. I have no idea. I was so unfocused and shaky when it was over, all they wanted to do was feed me. I will find all that out Thursday when I go back to my PCP to go over the results. I didn't dump tho.

Just wanted you to know you are not alone, I have it also. I check my sugar twice a day. If I'm not behaving about what I eat I routinely get in the low 40's high 30's very scary and uncomfortable feeling. My doctor has me keep crackers in my purse and I have a tube of insta-glucose. Like anything else in this life it is a hurdle to just glide over. Good luck with your monitoring I had to buy several meters so that I could stash them everywhere so when I forget to bring one I am covered. I use the Walmart Brand-cost effective and doesn't hurt to bad. Take care thinking of you. Stacey

Thanks. i hope I don't have to stick my finger too many times a day. I will find all that out in a day or two.

Bless you heart, another hurdle in life! I know how good you are about sticking to things so I'm sure that you'll have it all under control in no time. But, it's just not fair to have to be a hurdle jumper at our age! Wishing you the best, DeeDee

Thanks Dee, this hypoglycemia stuff is aggravating the poop out of me. I had surgery in Feb, 2003 and in July that year one thing after another started. First, two or three strictures, then gallbladder, then ulcers, then had to have part of my old tummy removed and just last week I was telling my surgeon how great I feel. He said, you had a bumpy start but you're on the mend now. Then this!!!!!!!!!!!! Kind of depressing. But, at least my hair has stopped falling out finally and is coming back in nice and gray and curly.
