I made it through Day 5 on the Protein Train. I had 867 calories, 76 grams of protein, and 77 ounces of water yesterday. Today I vow to: + Drink a minimum of 80 oz. of water. + Eat fewer than 1000 calories based on the plateau buster plan. + Work out in the gym after work. + Not get on the scales again until Saturday. What are you vowing to do today? Y'all have a Marvelous Monday and good luck to everyone! DeeDee p.s. If you didn't read my big announcement from yesterday ... well, I finally made it to the Century Club! I lost 8 pounds in 4 days on the protein train!

Morning DD-- Ok here I go.... I woke up hungry this morning so had Ruby Red Grapefruit Crystal Lite, a Shake and coffee. Am gonna go exercise here in a little while. The fact you lost 8 pounds in 4 days really motivates me. If I can get down 3 at least I would be a happy camper. Today I vow to 5 protein shakes = 1,000 cal, 150g protein 64 oz water plus miscellaneous fluids 1/2 hour exercise at least snack on fruit or veggies if desperate Really gonna focus my energy into my home ( I re-decorated my bedroom this weekend) and yard etc. May use shopping ( my second strongest compulsion to cope) Do lots of journaling and posting, phone friends, walk the dog etc. Have a good one gang! Hiya Lucy! It seems like you have had a busy weekend. I love redecorating! I just got a new bed set for my guest room and lamp shade and I love the new look. I also have my computer set up in this room. Since I'm in here just about everyday, I decorate and add little touches just for me too! I am cheering you on today Lucy. You can do this. You made a commitment and I believe you will stick to it. Not for anyone but for yourself! You deserve to feel good about Lucy and the choices you make. When you get tempted to stray from your plan, get on here and give a shout out for some . The actual help is coming from within yourself by the mere fact that you would take the step to reach out. You have come a long way Lucy and I believe you will have "Victory" over this. Enjoy your day and be blessed sis! Your Friend, Jeannie

I got on the Treadmill last night before going to bed for 30mins. Motivation, motivation, motivation. It works when we work it. We have make the choices everyday to do it or not to do it. I am determined to make the right choices today too. Today I will: 1.Get at least 100grms.of Protein. 2.Get at least 100oz.of Water. 3.Do Treadmill for 30mins. (gonna get on there right after I post this). 4.Show an act of kindness to someone. 5.Go to my Support Grp.Meeting tonight. Trusting all will have a successful day abstaining and doing what we know to do. Be encouraged! Love, Jeannie

Thanks DeeDee! I knew I needed to get on that Treadmill no matter what time it was. It actually helped me get to sleep.LOL... I did great again today and did the Treadmill (notice I refer to it like it's some kind of monster). I got in 125grms.of Protein and 124oz of Water. Our support grp. was held at (believe it or not) 'Golden Coral'! Isn't that the place for a bunch of former Obese people to eat at. My God what is wrong w/these people who plan these outings? So here was another test of my willpower. I can honestly say I made only protien choices. Only the STRONG survive! If this was last week when I was really into those demon carbs, I would have blown it big time!!!! I was soooooo proud of myself you guys. I know I'm tooting my own horn. HeHe.... Even though I haven't gotten on the scale, I can tell by the way my capris fit today that I had of lost at least a few Lbs. I know by Sat. I will see the real numbers and I will be thankful for whatever the scale says because I know I am doing my best. I'm really tired and gonna hit the hay. See you all in the AM. I'm proud of you all for doing a great job. Hang in there and keep up the good work. Sleep well my dear friends. Jeannie

Golden Coral for a WLS support meeting??? What WERE they thinking, or should I ask, WERE they thinking? I guess there is an endless supply of protein on those food bars though. I'm so proud of you. Are you as surprised as I am that this is really working? Mine is kind of two-fold. First of all the weight is coming off so that's the obvious sign. The other is that without those carbs I'm not feeling sluggish. I would have a tendency to include carbs starting with lunch and spiral down the rest of the afternoon and into the evening. I'm not doing that now. I feel great. I sent my surgeon and nutritionist an email tonight just to ask them AGAIN if what I'm doing is okay. My surgeon told me a couple of months ago to keep my calories low (600 per day) and get those calories from protein (and not cheese --- he read my fitday whi*****luded cheese with almost every meal. ) I'll be curious as to what their response will be. I'll keep y'all posted although what my surgeon says is probably a moot point to anyone else! Hope you have a wonderful night and I'll see your bright and shining pixels in the morning! DeeDee

After messing up on Friday and Saturday and putting on a couple pounds in the process - yesterday was a little better and I saw a .8 lb. loss on the scale, so today I am going to TOTALLY behave myself and get back on track! So far today (it's 11:30 a.m. here) I have had my CIB w/8 oz skim milk, 16 oz raspberry tea and 16 oz of protein drink. That's 59 grams of protein so far and now I am working on 16 oz water. I bought some canned chunk white meat chicken yesterday, thought that'd be good for a meal 2oz has 15 g protein). And I'm going to have some chili that I made last night that's mostly meat - probably for lunch. If I need a snack somewhere, it will most likely be a yogurt. My only problem with trying to eat so much protein is there's just no room/time for fruits and veggies. So I have absolutely no fiber in my diet. But I am so close to goal (I want it SO bad!) I need to stick to the higher protein cuz if I don't, it seems like I don't lose at all or sometimes gain a little. I'm not really on the train like the rest of you -- can't eat that much! But I hope what I'm doing will still get me the same results... What'dya think?

I think that anything you decide to do and you commit to doing it will work well for you. I hope you have TOTALLY behaved yourself at this point and have reason to pat yourself on the back today! (where's the back patting emoticon?) DeeDee
