First of all, I am here to confess that I didn't keep my promise not to weigh until next Saturday. I could tell I was shrinking and I just KNEW I was "missing the moment." So this morning I got on the scale.
I MADE IT TO THE CENTURY CLUB!!!
Actually, I'm down 102 pounds so technically I did miss the moment but I'm thrilled. It has taken 27 months for me to get here. I had surgery June 2003 and by December 2003 I was gaining weight because of a staple line disruption. I was "held back" a year and had my revision January 2005.
I've lost 8 pounds in four days on the plateau buster's plan. Mind you, I'm still 90 pounds from my goal so losing 8 pounds isn't the same for me as it is for someone closer to goal. I'm so excited and I can promise you one thing --- I'm sticking with it for the six days I have remaining.

p.s. I love the new OH format but on my previous VOW posts I'm seeing numbers instead of the bullets --- looks like I'm cursing and of all my vices that's actually one I don't do; not even accidently!

Thanks Lucy! I lost 93 pounds before my staple line disruption so I never made it to the century club the first time. This time I had lost 95 pounds and it looked like I was NEVER going to get to the century club. This has been a real, and MUCH needed, booster for me. I know there are varying opinions about the plataeu busting plan but it was just what I needed at this time. Besides, it actually falls into my "doctor's orders" since he wants me eating fewer calories and dense proteins. But, I'm still less than a year post-op from the revision.
The weird thing is that I haven't been able to eat 15 oz. of protein a single day yet! My pouch really is small when I fill it with dense meats.
How are you doing? Are you staying on track with your plan? You know I think about you every day and send good thoughts your way!

You should have spoken up; it wouldn't have taken much convincing to get me to do it by yesterday! I could just feel my belly shrinking so much these last four days and I just KNEW I had finally arrived at that magical moment. I think I must be the only person who needed to lose almost 200 pounds and took 27 months to get to the half-way mark! Ah well, life is grand today.
I'm pretty pumped as you can imagine. I've watched all you folks who had surgery around the same time I had my first one make it to goal and I have felt so left behind! But I'm going to catch y'all, I promise!

Thanks Theresa! Sorry I didn't keep my promise not to weigh but I do promise I won't do it again until this coming Saturday. I just knew I had finally crossed that milestone and after 27 months of trying to get here I lost my ability to resist.
However, I have NOT lost my ability to resist the carbs! I'm still doing well on the protein train you suggested last week and it is the only reason I made the century club this weekend. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now, hand in there with me... I still have 90 pounds to go!
