I have been really curious lately about what everyone takes on a regular basis, pre-op and post-op: Pre-op: Daily Vitamin (when I remembered) Effexor Some type of BP med (I refused to take it because I was devasted that at the age of 25 I need hear medication and thus prompted my decision to have WLS) 1 baby asprin (see heart issue) Celebrex Vicodin Post-op: Daily Vitamin (without fail) 2 types of calcium weekly b-12 injection iron supplement Nexium Miralax Life is SO much better, pain free and heart healthy! My doctor is in awe over my cholesterol (better than he could ever have, his words).

Tooter, I also take the chelated Solgar Multi. Can I ask why 2? Just wondering if you got better direction on them then I did. I just started those on my own and the dr. hasn't ever changed my 1.

My nutritionist, bless his heart, actually GOT educated about WLS after I told him I was going to have the RNY. Anyway, his researched showed that (and this is somewhat true for all humans) our nutrients are best broken up through out the day, rather than trying to get them all at once. Combine that with the idea that we malaborb about 50-75% (and that is BALL PARK) of the nutrients we ingest; his 'theory' is by taking one in the morning and one in the evening I keep a better, consistent and constant supply of nutrients to my body. I do find I am typically less tired in the evenings when I take them this way. So far, it's working, so I don't argue lol.

Oh, keep in mind all my 'levels' are good, my nails and hair grow...my skin is good, all that.... I just shoot 2 ounces of OJ with Calcium a day with a double shot of B12 (liquid) and two prenatal vitamins. I take birth control daily. I take Tylenol occasionally for aches and pains. I need to be back on WELLBUTRIN to help me quit the smoking-which is the MOST dangerous drug I ingest. I also ingest allergy medication on occasion or a sleep aide here and there. I have been without health insurance since November, so I will probably go on the Wellbutrin soon. I also have cholesteral issues (hereditary) with I am told I will probably never had heart/blockage issues from it-but I might have to go back on Lipitor. :-/ SOOOO! I am boring! ps. Can I have some vicodin? Tracy

I misread your post a bit: Before: Lipitor Wellbutrin or Celexa for depression and never, EVER took vitamins....I rarely miss now. I took alot more allergy pills and other minor remedies, cause I was sick all the time! Tracy
