I decided to hop on the protein train for ten days yesterday and I made it! I had 3 oz. of chicken, 3 oz. of turkey jerky, 3 oz. of shrimp, and 96 oz. of water! That came to 525 calories and 78 grams of protein. Today I vow to: ? Stay on the protein train (see the plan below) ? Drink a minimum of 80 oz. of water ? Go to the gym after work and work out ? Not get on the scales until this 10 day plateau busting plan is over So... what are you vowing to do today and how did you do yesterday? DeeDee ===================================================== Breaking Plateaus: Do this for 10 days to break plateau 1) Drink 2 quarts of water a day 2) You must have 45 grams of protien supplement and all your vitamin & mineral supplements each day 3) you may consume up to 3 oz. of the following high-protein foods, 5 times a day: ? beef ? pork ? chicken ? turkey ? lamb ? fish ? eggs ? low-fat cheese ? cottage cheese ? plain yougurt or artificially sweetetened ? peanut butter ? beans/legumes You may also have: ? sugar free popsicles ? tea or coffee ? sugar free sodas ? sugar free jello ? broths and bullions ? crystal lite drinks 4) IF IT IS NOT ON THE LIST YOU CANNOT HAVE IT FOR 10 DAYS 5) Keep a food diary and get up to 30 minutes of exercise daily.

G'morning DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! (can ya' tell Ive had way too much java this morning?) Okay - lessee, today I VOW to get on that stupid-dumb-evil tread mill and bust out a few miles of sweat. I hate the blasted thing, if you havent figured it out, but Im too lazy to drive to the gym. Lei is taking the week OFF from OLD PERVS at the GYM! Also, I vow to get in at least 75 grams of protein in via three shakes, DAILY!!!! I noticed my NAILS are growing again - woooohooooo, they're finally freakn GROWING AGAIN and the only thing Ive changed in my routine over the last 6 weeks is the increase in the SHAKES. Dontcha know Im not even gonna muck with it if it's working. Hugs - Lei

It's an OPPORTUNITY machine, Lei!! The opportunity to firm, tone, tighten, and sweat out impurities from your body! There, that's about as much motivational excitement I can muster up for a treadmill. I wanted so much to join the YMCA that just opened about 7 miles from my house but I have a gym (without a pool) at my office complex and it's one floor below me. Knowing my lack of motivation to actually drive to work out I opted to join it instead. Good luck to you today! DD

Thanks for spearheading this Dee Dee...It only takes one person to get us all motivated. One day down, a lifetime to go. Yesterday went well...My water was over 90 oz. and my protein was 100! More than I've had for some time. My new Nectar Natural Peach and the Tealicious arrived and they're both actually good! I had one before bed last night, and started the day with the other this morning. I'm a scale-aholic, but I'm trying hard not to weigh myself for at least 5 days to see if I'm making any progress. If not, at least I'm saving my hair by upping my protein...It's been falling out again and I HATE that. btw, LOVE your southern humor. Makes me smile all day! Julie 2/12/2004 254/148

Glad you did so well yesterday, Julie. Staying off the scales is a hard thing for me and I'm so close to the century club that I'm hoping when I get on them in 10 days I'll actually have surpassed the century club! I'm glad you enjoy the southernisms ... next to the Bible the next book a southern lady must own is "A Southern Belle Primer, Or why Princess Margaret Will Never Be a Kappa Kappa Gamma" by Maryln Schwartz. Good luck today! DD

I'm backkkkkkkkkkk!!! Missed everyone! I had a nice time and a nice birthday. Thanks for the birthday wishes too. I read about the protein train and went on the scale this morning and I will be hoping on that train too. Boy how easy it is to put the pounds on. I have no problem getting my protein in, but it's eating all the wrong carbs that get me. I need to get in control and I hope this gets me started. Today I will eat only protein and up my water. I usually get in 64-80 oz of water but will make sure I get more in. I also will get 30 mins. of the treadmill in. I will check back in this afternoon. Accountability is what I need! Thanks for adding this DeeDee & Theresa. I think this is the only way I'm gonna get the carbs out of my system. Cold Turkey!!!!!! Well I'm off to get more protein shakes. I have plenty of bars. I already made a 12oz can of tuna. We CAN do this!!!!! Have a great day everyone! Jeannie

Good morning DeeDee..... Good job yesterday !!! Today I vow to drink at least 64 oz of water. I've been drinking way to much decaf, coffee. Yes, work out at least 45 min on the treadmill ( I agree it's evil) Tan I've also noticed my nails are growing nicely. They use to split and break and not grow at all.... Now, I think it's all the vitamins I'm taking. As long as I keep polish on them, they don't break....
