hernia danger under sternum???

I everyone, I have a question and I thought someone might be albe to help me. I have a ventral hernia repaired last April, it was really really big and I was afraid it could become incarcerated (not sure if that is the right word) The surgeon fixed the hernia, and took my belly button, then put in mesh to hold it. well the mesh became really infected, had a MRSA infection and the surgeon had to go back in and remove the mesh and put in a different kind, one that disinergrates. I was on antibiotics for 6 weeks through a port and then about 2 weeks after I was done with the antibiotics my dang port got infected and I got to spend 3 days in the hospital and have the port removed. When the surgeon did the ventral hernia he also did a kind of TT, so my lower belly is much smaller then the upper belly, he plans to make the whole thing look more normal when he goes in to fix te hernia below the sternum... Here is my problem, the upper belly seems to stick out alot! the more weight I lose the more it sticks out too! my surgeon wants to wait a little longer, like in January, to fix this because of the past infections, he wants my body to be totally ready and I agreed with him, but what I need to know is there any danger of something getting incarserated or popping through this high up? there is no pain but but this hernia is along the incession line and about 6 inches long. Next month I will be 18 months out and at per my insurance plan, I can have this fixed. Thanks Donna 277/150
