I truly do need support to help me get rid of this 23 lbs I have gained back and to help me want to get on track. Not doing my vitamins, protein, or water. I have to have foot surgery the 22nd so no exercise. I started gaining when I went on hormones for hot flashes. I am not feeling Sorry for myself. I am disgusted.

It isn't the weight that is the scariest part! Vitamins, protein and water are your necessities of life! You can't lose weight when you are not feeding your body the nutrients it needs. You know the rules, just stand yourself up against the wall and speak slowly and enunciate carefully so that you understand what you are saying. Explain that you MUST take your vitamins and drink your water and you need to be certain to feed your body the protein it needs to survive. Then, if carbohydrate addiction is part of your weight gain feeding, get them out of the house. I am an addict and if I allow anything in the house, even when my husband hides it, I can hear it calling and will munch until it is gone. Good luck!

Glad you made it over here! I'm sure you'll get lots of support, if you're open to suggestions and the friendship they seem to have going on here. I don't post on the grads board hardly ever, - I lurk, and I know most of the folks who post here and have a considerable amount of respect for their opinions. I hope you find the help you seek. (((HUGS))) and good luck!

Debbie, I too am remis in my vitamins. I KNOW I should take them, I KNOW what it can do to me, I KNOW it's stupid, I KNOW I get lectured, but yet...well...at least I'm beginning to get back on track with that aspect of my journey. Maybe you and I can be vitamin buddies!!! I'm sorry about your foot surgery. I hope we can help you ditch those pounds with support, encouragement and good old fashioned foot in the butt action (I know I need it for my vit's). Take care...

Glad you ventured over here. I have got to be the world's worst bypass patient on taking vitamins and drinking water. Believe it or not, I have no problem drinking two shakes a day. In fact, if I accidently miss a day, I go into withdrawals. Seriously!!!!!!!! I am struggling with some weight gain right now also. But I dropped so low that I was eating to gain 20 pounds and now I am just going right on up and am panicked over it. This morning I weighed 127. I am hoping that when I get to 130 or 135 that I will stop gaining. That seems to be my setpoint. That's where I was for several months until I got sick last December and started losing again. It sure is scarey. Sorry about the foot surgery. I had that too but it was a year or so before WLS. man, that was awful even trying to walk with that big boot on.

You followed a program to lose the weight so you obviously know how to do it. Don't think long term just tell yourself before you go to bed tonight that tomorrow is going to be a new day. Then stick to your program. It's harder when you can't exercise, but you can still lose it if you stick to the rules. Protein first, no drinking with meals, etc. Best of luck!

Welcome here Debbie. You are not alone. There are many here who have suffered some regain of varying amounts (me, among them). The one thing we seem to all agree on is getting back to basics. The whole pouch rules thing seems to work. Just try and get back to what you did in the beginning. One day at a time. There are several who post daily vows here--that seems to help them. Oh and by the way--get back to taking those vitamins and make sure you are gettin gyour protein one way or another. It is YOUR responsibility to keep yourself healthy. Take care and good luck!

Debbie you need (((((HUGS)))))! Now lets see if we can get you back on track....You know the rules like I do.....Start by getting the vitamins back in your life.....Monitor for one week. If you want....post that you did your vitamins! Makes you accountable to someone other than yourself. That usually works for me! After you get the routine down with vitamins go to the protein......Get your counts back up and use the same monitoring system.....Dear Diary I ate 60 gs of protein! Or Dear Diary I did not make it to 60 gs but I did 50 gs. I will strive for better tomorrow! Write the words it helps! Exercise should be your last priority now with surgery. Protein and Vitamins have to be your first otherwise how will you heal after surgery. Good luck with this bump in the road....if you need any help we are all here for you! Debbie
