15 Months out .. Still Loosing ...
Ok .. I started this journey 15 months ago . I was at 307 .. today I stepped on the ole scale and it said 134.. ( Size 6 ) and I am 5,7 . I am still loosing weight . My NP told me I did not need to loose anymore . Here are my questions for you if you do not mind . I feel like I eat .... still never hungry .. and still get sick if I eat the wrong foods ...ie --- beef.. left overs etc ..
1. I still do 120 grams of protein .. Do I still need this much ?
2. Could all the exersise I do be contributing to the continuing WL.
3. How do I stop it - if I am eating all that I should be .. or is my body still in the fat burning mode ? What Caloric #'s should I be looking to get to?
I have an appointment to see my NP in November again .. I will surely ask her if the wl is still happening .. But I wanted to get an insight from you all on your thougts .

What I have suggested to a couple of the gals in my suuport groups is to add some wheat type pastas to their foods. Some whole wheat bread....I know after about month 18 the body starts to "fill in" and the loss should slow down if not stop at that time. This does not happen with everyone, just a generalization.
I would be interested in what your doc suggests to you....

WOW! You've done WONDERFULLY! Congratulations!
You could try increasing your carb intake by 5% per day a week at a time until you stop losing. Try choosing good carbs though. If you look back through the posts and find the one started by me titled "What SHOULD I be eating?" there is some good info there.

This discussion came up at one of my WL meetings and it was suggested to start drinking liquids with your meals. Also, I was told by my Dr. that eating leftovers is a no no because their is a chemical change to food once cooked that can react on us in a negative fashion. So whatever leftovers bother you I would stay away from them for this reason.
I am now 11 months out and down 110 lbs to a Dr goal weight of between 153-155. I personally want to lose another 15 lbs but would be happy with another 10. I have been at this present weight since June 1 and bouce between the 153 and 155. Any suggestions on how to break this standstill?

What does drinking liquid with meals do? I was told not to do it from day one but I always have because I just CAN'T eat without drinking something. I figured drinking with my meal kinda washed things through faster (i.e. absorb less nutrients).

I am amazed you were told to drink with meals. Since WLS can cause us to have malabsorption issues, drinking with a meal would add to the problem. I don't think it is a good idea.
At our support group meeting, the people at goal and not wanting to lose any moe were advised to add in more carbs and to watch the scale until they found a good balance of maintaining.
It is so hard with so many different programs/routines/requirements by the different surgeons. It is unfortunate that there isn't a set guideline that would work for all.
