What are you still wearing?

Pre-op I was wearing tight 5x shirts or 6x, 64 pants (tight). There is virtually nothing that is 'sized' that I wore pre-op that I am able to wear now (socks and shoes don't count). I say 'virtually' because there is one exception... My 6x Royal Blue LONG Terry Cloth Robe with HOOD. Even Pre-Op, the 6x robe was a little too big, but it was also just right. This robe is plush, and long. I am 6'4", so this robe was the BIGGEST TALL size available. I STILL wear this robe EVERY DAY. My wife owns the same robe in 2x Burgandy. I grab hers occassionally, and even it is far too big for me. The robe is simply too plush, and I worked too hard to find it, to give it up. Do YOU still wear anything from your former Grand life? Tek The 'Urgent' is just for you PH

I have a 3X sweatshirt from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas that I wear. My fiance has threatened to burn it but I love it. It is the sweatshirt I bought when I won my first jackpot at Caesars palace -- if he thinks I am getting rid of it, he is crazy.....It is warm and I can wrap up in it....or put it on over some leggings and it covers all the little lumps and bumps that are still hanging around.

Tek, I really only have a few T-shirts and sweatshirts that I've kept. The rest of them made it to Goodwill or to my DH along with all the pants. The ones I kept have some meaning attached, but honestly, I almost never wear any of them. I also kept my robes (all 3 of them), but a robe is easier to deal with than baggy jeans and HUGE shirts. I like my clothes that people see me in to 'fit.' Linn

Never had T-Shirts with sentimental value... They just didn't make them that big. I reverted to collecting Hats, which I have. I now collect T-Shirts over hats. I guess robes are a different class of clothes... My wife and I both like to be swallowed by our robes. I also prefer 'fit'. Tek

I have a pair of jean I kept also, but aside from the occassional side-show display of me in one leg, me & wife in one leg, Las Vegas in one leg... I don't actually wear them anymore. Tek

Sounds like you really like that robe .... I have a night shirt I like to wear ;). Why not alter the robe? You could save the extra to do something (don't know what ;) ) with.

I kept the clothes I wore to the hospital for surgery day. But I haven't tried them on since then. Afraid I have absolutely nothing from my former grand life that I still wear. The last hold outs were the 5x tie-dyed T-shirts I used to wear to bed. Finally had to get rid of them when the neck hole became so big my "parts" fell out of them when I rolled over in bed. When standing the neck hole drooped all the way down to my elbow on one side. In fact... that's how I measure when I need new tops/shirts. If the neck hole starts to expose my shoulder its time for a new size! WP P.S. I do have shoes I still wear... but I don't count them.

I still wear my favorite 26/28 nightgown with dancing bears on it. My DH laughs everytime I put it on, but it's sooooooo soft from years of wear. And then there is my Bruce Springsteen t-shirt. Saw him at Gillette stadium in Foxboro, MA two years ago. He was amazing and his t-shirts were even more amazing because they went up to 2X!!!! Even though it was snug, I still wore it (yuck) but now I swim in it; love the t-shirt, love the musician, love the swimming. Judi
