Just what SHOULD I eat?

Yeh, this is what I'm coming up with in reading all of the replies to my question. I DO plan to call my surgeon and ask that they schedule a meeting for me with the nut after I meet with him on the 9/19. Hopefully they'll get it the appointments on the same day. Until then, this is my plan: 800-1200 cal (higher on my two 'splurge' days) 100-135 grams protein 20-25 grams carbs 40-60 grams fat 64 oz min water/tea/crystal light per day Excercise as I can Thanks! protein & carbs are 5 Cals/gram, fats are 9 cals per gram. on this plan your protein cals would be 500-675 carbs 100-125 fats 360 - 540 maKING THE TOTAL 960-1890 CALS/DAY ( I used my calculater but hopefully no errors in math) on the plan I was given I was told, 54 grams protein a day. 1 gram per kilo ideal body weight, is the ideal amount. Ie my ideal body weight is 118 divided by 2.2 (pounds per kilo) = 53.6 Kilos means 54 grams protein per day. I was told no more than 26 grams of fat a day. ( yeah right, I am usually taking in 40-45 Because I sometimes snack on nuts, peanut butter and I eat red meat almost every day) I was never told to count carbs, but to not eat refined sugars and to avoid anything with > 2 grams added sugar per serving , natural sugars in fruits, milk are ok by my program. basically protein first and 6 oz a day of meat , fish chicken will meet that goal of 54 grams with no other protein ingested. Milk, cheese, nuts all have protein too so I get over the 54 grams. I rarely drink milk, prefer to chew my calories. but cheese & yogurt are a daily thing too, at least 3 servings. Usually over 70-90 grams of protein in. then veggies, & fruits. I like fruit better and eat a lot of it. then grains last if there is room left. today I had early am w/ vits - yogurt w/ kashi, real breakfast 2 turkey sausages with 1 kashi waffle ( high protein high fiber & actually tastes good) with sf syrup, snack banan w/ peanut butterlunch - buffalo chicken wings ( I know really high fat) with reduced fat bleu cheese dip and raw carrots, 1 small piece garlic bread, water melon, snack 1 way bar, dinner - 4 slices maki roll (sushi), 1 big eye tuna sushi, 1 scallop sushi and 1 octopus sushi. WOW! That was an informative post! Thank you! So ... I need to cut out 160 from my min calories and I see I can do that with a protien drink (cause I may not need all that protein) ... or cut out some fat. I concentrate most on carbs and protein since I was very successful before surgery watching those (Atkins/South Beach approach). I started watching and playing with my diet 9/1. As of AM, I've lost 3lbs .... SOOOO, I've gone overboard as usual .... I worry so much because on a 'splurge' day I can easily take in 3000 calories or more (chicken wings and beer are serious weaknesses on splurge day!). Thank you for your input. Julie P.S.
