[sigh] ...yah yah yah, Im posting WAY to much this morning, sorry! Any hair dressers out there???? I was supposed to "encourage" my already blonde (with lots of gray) hair to be completely BLONDE again. I went through the typical process that Ive been doing for decades. Wait, did I say decades? I meant for the last year, of course. Anyway - the flippin' box says SUMMER BLONDE so why the heck am I now sporting a BROWN MOP?!? Can this be fixed without me losing my hair? I don't want to burn what little I have left - am I destined to be a brunette for six weeks? Um, not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that (so no grumbling, k?) ..it's just that Ive always been a blonde...well, cept for that one time I dabbled in fire engine RED! Amazing - by now, you'd think I'd know not to mess around with Murphy this close to a trip. Any ideas or tips are welcomed - Lei

I had a situation similiar in May, but my blonde hair went flaming orange and I was in Vegas. Had to go to the drug store and get some color remover. So in the Hotel bathroom I did a color remover treatment, bet they thought I was running from the law and doing a quick dye job. Basically what I'm saying is, you can get color remover kits too. One possibility... You might THINK you look brown, but in reality it's just a darker blonde than you're used to looking at. For years I colored my own hair, and there were times I chose a darker, more natural blonde and thought my hair looked BROWN. It really wasn't brown, just darker than what I was used to seeing on me. When I quit doing my own a couple years ago, my hairdresser did 'low lights' and once again I thought I was brown (here are our perceptions at work). Actually, what I looked like was much more natural. Linn

Hi Lei!! Wow! I think we have ALL had our days! Mine were of course PRE-COSMETOLOGY school....looked like a SKUNK once! Well, my input is that what may be summer blonde to one is not summer blonde to another and it also depends on what color hair your putting it on...it can only come up so many shades.....hence the darker outcome. You could get a lighter color and add it on top ....your hair shouldn't fry unless you perm it too... When you buy over the counter hair color...a word of advice is it ALWAYS is at least 1-2 shades darker than it looks on the box!! Again...it depends on your base color too! Choose a lite blonde and do a strand test first!! Section off a small piece of hair...mix the color and peroxide in the cap of the bottle (so you use only a tiny bit), apply it to the test strand, leave it, wa**** dry it and see what the color is... If you read the box carefully they ALL say do a test strand but do we?? NOOOOPE! Or you can just let it go....it will lighten up eventually. Good luck to you! Julie
