Hi folks! I missed my calorie vow yesterday and went over (that ravenous TOM kills me every month!) but otherwise I did well with working out, etc. Today I vow to: ? Drink a minimum of 80 oz. of water ? Work out at the gym after work ? Eat fewer than 1200 calories What are you vowing to do today and how did you do yesterday? Have a Terrific Tuesday! DeeDee

Good morning DeeDee! I had a momentary lapse of reason last night and ate some no-no's right before bed last night. Today I am not going to do that. I'm am go to say NO to snacks. Michelle

Morning DD and pals! I did ok yesterday-- didn't stick to my original food plan exactly but go****er, protein and exercise in. I am very tired this morning. On day # 7 of a 10 in a row at work and didn't sleep good last night. I have a very restless ****zu dog who has been scratching and licking like crazy. Think I need to make a vet appointment today. He usually doesn't visit me in the night and was in two or three times. Any ideas about that? Anyway today I vow water, exercise and protein and need to get a good nights sleep tonight. Have a great day! Don't ya hate that TOM stuff. I do find my metabolism does take off for about a week so sometimes I will lose without much effort of my own. Babbling now -- take care-- Lucy

I'm late tonight, Lucy. I hope you did will with your vows today. I had to have our last Shih Tzu (he was 20 years old) put to sleep last Christmas Eve. He and his "wife" (yes, my daughter performed an un-official Baptist wedding ceremony so the dogs didn't live in sin ) were an absolute joy in our lives for many years. I hope yours is doing better by now. Did you find out what was wrong? See you tomorrow! DD

I'm getting on late tonight, Michelle... so I hope your late night snacking hasn't been an issue at this point! Good job if you kept up that vow; I know it isn't easy. DD

G'morning Dee Dee - LOL - Im gonna have FUN doing MY VOWS today - cause it's all getting ready for my vacation. I'm going to be spending 12 days with my bestest friends in the whole entire widest of worlds. Four ladies I met in Oklahoma 26 years ago, and we've been life long sisters ever since. MAN I can't wait! Now that being said, I have to wonder why Im bothering to shave my legs, they're girlfriends NOT boyfriends. Anyway - my vows today: * Shave my legs -- kinda, it'll be courtesy of NAIR! * Encourage my hair to be blonder - courtesy of Loreal * Paint my toe-nails & finger nails to MATCH! (whatta concept huh?) * Pack everything I need - then go back through it and leave half behind. Can we say "over kill"? Yep, that's me and packing for trips. * Survive the 20 hour drive without sticking my 26 yr old son in the trunk. He's as stubborn and opinionated as his momma, this could be fun. Oh - and drink my water, protein, yada yada yada! Hugs to all - Lei Pssst... Dee Dee, you asked me yesterday how I get in my 150 oz H20 and here I be with a few things that work for me. I have a 32 oz water bottle that gets filled up 5 times a day. 3 of those 32 oz are consumed during my GYM time. I kinda set RULES for myself, like you would a child? ie. I "have" to drink the first 32 oz on my drive IN to the gym (20 minutes away) and I can NOT get out of my car until that bottle is GONE. I then "make" myself drink another 32 oz as Im doing my 1 hour routine, filling up my bottle on my way out, for the 32 oz, on the drive HOME. ...and YES, I have pulled into my driveway before and the bottle is NOT empty yet. I literally refuse to get out of that car until it is, so if it's a hot day, that's all the insentive I need. What it boils down too, Ive got almost a 100 oz in me, just on a 2 hour turn around to and from the gym. That makes it very easy to fit in another 50 ounces through out the day, from 10 am to 10 pm. LOL - trust me, I don't drink the water cause I crave it or want it, I just know it's good for my body. So, like the protien supps? I JUST DO IT!!!

I hope you've had a fun day getting ready, Lei! I had to snicker at your list of vows for the day. I have a "proper" southern aunt who once told me that southern ladies don't "paint" their nails; they polish them. So... being the Mississippi Rebel that I am I PAINT mine too! I do the same thing you do with your water... I just do it with 20 ounce bottles and only one at the gym and one on the ride home. Guess I need bigger bottles if I'm going to up my water drinking. I always have this panic feeling that I'm NOT going to make it home after drinking that much water (stuck at the railroad tracks, wreck, etc.) so I breath a sigh of relief and charge through the door and straight to the bathroom as soon as I get home. I'm heading out on a nine day trip this Friday with my dad, his wife, his sister and my husband... your trip sounds like a LOT more fun. DeeDee

That TOM will get us everytime! You are doing great in spite of it though. I stuck to my plan and even did the Treadmill. I was determined to get on that thing. I had to fight wanting to eat again last night. I didn't give in but man, was it hard. I went to bed early because I didn't want to give in. Grrrrrrrrr.....Some nights are better than others. Today's committments: 1.Get ALL my H2o in. 2.Get ALL my Protein in. 3.Eat SLOWER! 4.Do the Treadmill. 5.Head out to JCPenny's for that great sale Leilani told us about yesterday. We can do anything we set our minds to! Here's to another successful, abstinent day! Jeannie

Jane, Yikes ... that is awfully young for a pacemaker but if it helps you lead a good, productive life then I guess it's a small price to pay. Posting does seem to help keep most of us on track... I hope it's helped you today too. Post tomorrow and let us know how you did and good luck with the upcoming new ticker! DD

Jeannie, I'm late tonight ... I hope you managed to get vow #5 in today --- it sounds like the most fun one you had listed! I went to bed early last night too but Katrina knocked on our front storm door and busted ALL the glass (I'm in Mississippi). We had glass all over the front porch, all in my plants, in the flowerbeds, etc. Of course if that's the worse I have to endure from her wrath I'll count my blessings and wear good shoes out the front door until all the slivers of glass finally vanish... you just can't sweep them all up! See you tomorrow! DD
